Watching the ITV World of Sport pilot and I think the production team are trying to go for some kind of record for the amount of cuts, it's doing my fucking tree in.
Commentary is pretty bad as well, but that's not a surprise since I'm not a fan of getting an import in to be the voice of an alleged BritWres revival (even though I quite like JR normally) and Alex Shane is even worse as a commentator than he is as a human being.
El Ligero is a face...I don't even.
Obviously it's impossible to make Zack Gibson a face due to him being a scouser (a crime at the best of times, even before you factor in the Manchester crowd). However they maybe should've changed the card up a little to get the best out of Ligero, since when you take out his #TopBantz you're just left with a really bad El Generico knock off.
No it's worse than that.
Also Grado just won the battle royal and I'm pretty sure he's going to go over Bantersaurus Rex Dave Mastiff for the belt to close the show. Which is just like ITV y u do dis?
Everyone is different. Everyone is special.

Most TV wrestling seems to have been filmed by Kevin Dunn, honestly. Gotta give the dude credit; he made his directing style the industry standard. In fact, when it doesn't follow the Dunn template it really is quite jarring.

Putting my own dislike for Grado aside for a moment, the biggest problem with it is really the manner in which he went over rather than the fact that he went over at all.
It was the kind of tedious "against all the odds" booking that people roundly mock WWE for trotting out all the time with their top faces.

So it seems that the bookers of this think they need to ape WWE stuff to draw an audience.
Good to know wrestling has learned all its lessons in failure.
It is, but at the same time, hiding an injury from officials and then pretending afterwards that it happened on 205 Live, that's not really a smart move? I get that it's an opportunity that you really want to take, but no way is the WWE booking him again.

Man I just can't listen to shoemakers podcast. I don't think it's him but I really dislike one of the people he normally brings on and like ten minutes into the year end show I tuned out.
I just can't enjoy listening to someone lucky enough to be producing wrestling related content go on and on about how there's too much wrestling and it makes them lose interest and not care and shit.
It's not that some folks don't go through that but as someone who wouldn't complain if they added another show for each weeknight its an annoying message to be getting from, as I said, someone who ostensibly talks about wrestling for a damn living.
And to be clear re watching more shows, I don't have infinite time. If I missed a show or chose not to watch one in that scenario I wouldn't consider that a disaster or a problem. I simply can't complain about more and more relatively high quality wrestling being available.
Sorry for ranting but for some reason when I was yelling this at the podcast in my car no one replied.

What's this?
John Yurnet had a match against Mustafa Ali on 205 Live where he could barely move, couldn't bend his right knee. Afterwards he sent out a message on instagram saying "Sorry to all my fans. Blew my knee out at #205live will keep everyone updated". But there's video of him wrestling leading up to 205 where he had the same issues with his knee, he was apparently pulled from an indy event in Texas because of it and (according to the sheetz) it was something he kept hidden from the WWE going in.
Edit: He also has a GoFundMe up for help with medical expenses, which, I dunno, ends up feeling a bit shifty?
So I heard 205 Live this week was better than normal, think I'll watch it.
The duel was indeed rad. Also the fact that it was one giant Clue joke(Rope, lead pipe, pipe wrench, and candlestick are all weapons from Clue, as was Gallagher's "Colonel Mustard" reference).
Also enjoyed the fact that the fans stuck around to watch and the crowd was actually excited for the stuff going on in the ring.
I remember the first episode of 205 Live where more than half the seats were empty because most people left after Smackdown.
Also, props to Austin Aries for calling fans out on their bullshit chants*.
*During the Neville/Swann match the crowd started chanting Austin Aries, and he said something along the lines of "Hey, I enjoy having my name chanted as much as the next guy, but how bout these fans pay attention to whats going on in the ring?".

I'll throw out props to Daivari for playing his part of the duel perfectly and actually appearing smooth and natural on the mic.

Yeah, unfortunately St. Germain and/or Kazee are basically the archetypal jaded Internet smark. I avoid the show when I see that they're guesting. I do enjoy the shows with LaToya Ferguson, and there have been plenty of other good guests.
I have been enjoying Tights and Fights though, and The Story of Wrestling (which is usually hosted by a couple of guys who cover WWE for The AV Club) is pretty good, if somewhat irregularly updated.

What?
I went to Google and started typing in 'doing my tree in' and it helpfully added 'meaning' to the end of it. But still had no answers for me.

How do you get that meaning from that...and are the trees and nuts related? So many questions. Allow it.

Not really in this case. Taker did go undrafted.
