i'm trying to confirm if the following links are legit places to donate to support NoDAPL water protectors. too many scammers on the internet, and too few mainstream locations even giving notice to donation sites. anyone willing to help confirm these are legit?:

medichealercouncil is legit, as is the legal defense fund and ocetisakowin, and of course standingrock.org.
Personally, rather than donating to Sophia or Suzie, I went with the medic and healing council. Resources at camp are pretty stretched, and I feel like it will go farther that way.
Unless you know it's a native-made documentary, I wouldn't donate to that one.. some of the natives are getting pretty salty about the fact that a bunch of non-native documentary film makers are swooping in wanting interviews and pictures and stuff to tell their stories from yet another non-native point of view, and then not compensating anybody in the video or related to the tribe for them. I can't reconcile it, so I avoid donating to those in general. If you want to donate to filming what's going on and telling the story of the camp, Myron Dewy (Dr0ne2bwild), Dallas Goldtooth with Indigenous Environmental Network, and Digital Smoke Signals (a network dedicated to videos, photos, recordings, etc. from indigenous people relating to their issues) are all great places to go, and equipment good enough to accurately record in the dark at a distance is expensive.
There are alllll kinds of things they need there though. If you can think of it, they need it. They're good on lighter clothes and school supplies, but they are always accepting tons of other stuff, especially winter gear, firewood, anything that can be used to winterize, as well as milk of magnesia and protective gear because the police there really like point-blanking people in the face with pepper spray.
There's also this one: https://www.gofundme.com/veterans-for-standing-rock-nodapl . It's for the veterans group that's going up there. They've got more vets signed up to go than they have funding, so they're looking at the possibility of planning more events at Standing Rock down the line.
In the end though money is easier to send, and the police are turning away supplies from the north, which means anything coming from Bismark. If you have anything shipped to the camps, it's going to go through Bismark and then get stuck. I hear they're looking at setting up supply runs from the south, which can't be blockaded that way because it goes through the reservation itself, but as far as I know setting up something regular for that is a work in progress. Amazon will no longer send certain supplies to the camp period, so that is worth noting as well.
If you have any other questions let me know, by the end of the afternoon I'm usually completely caught up on what's going on from a number of sources, feeds, etc. I attend every local benefit, action, and even drum circle I can get away from the kids long enough to go, and I am acquainted with a few people who go back and forth at least once a month. I have a whole lot of info aggregated (or can tell you a good place to look for it if I don't). I am actually going to a benefit on Friday night where 100% of the proceeds go to the camps... but a large percentage of that is actually earmarked for bales of hay for the horses, because it's a gap that just doesn't get thought of much and because of the winter it's harder for them to get food right now.
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

They are the same fundraiser. The totals are identical.
FYI, I don't know if you're going to be allowed to keep this here as a list, because threads to promote specific charities isn't usually allowed afaik (although obviously this is something I feel strongly about). Asking for resources or if something is legit is okay, but I'm not sure about saying "okay here is a list in the OP". I'm still easing back into things after kind of a long hiatus. If this is something you want to turn into a resources thread I'm on board, but there needs to be some clarification from Tube, especially on this very contentious issue.

got it. sorry, didn't mean to make this the end source. my goal is to move this off the forum, just wanted to verify the links and clean it up before doing so.

Yeah we're not going to have a thread devoted to it here.
