Walkie Talkies at Pax South?

Mulehorn117Mulehorn117 Registered User new member
Hey guys quick question to the community here! I went to Pax South last year and it was super hard to coordinate with cell phones. The service was pretty spotty. Does anyone know if there are any rules about me bringing in my own walkies for my team going this year? I was thinking that would be way easier to communicate with than cells.

As far as I know there are no PAX-specific rules about this. You'd have to make sure to obey local laws and any convention center regulations.

I like your idea! I checked the page for the official convention center and they do have a section for FAQs, including on that says "What is not permitted inside the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center?". I do not see anything listed close to walkie-talkies, so from at least that one spot it does appear you would be fine. Here is a link to the FAQs:

If you're wanting to speak to someone and get peace-of-mind, you can always contact them directly too. I may do this later too, as I really do like your idea of using those to keep in contact.
