I knew Hayato was a skeevazoid. I fuckin' knew it.
Trust no 29-year-old who wants to date a teenager, ever.
Also, it is the funniest thing in the world to me that Arman's emotional confessions keep being drowned out by loud vehicles, over and over and over again.
the way Uchi and Minori turn into the fucking date police is infuriating
Like they think they know something just cause they have a quiet and awkward relationship now

Making it clear that some euphemisms aren't universal, everyone keeps talking about a date at "the meat festival" and no one is snickering
Except (ep 33)
She is too goddamn young for you Hayato you creepy fuck

Legacy... what is legacy? (Episode 33)
It's Tamosan asking Hayato direct, probing questions at the first dinner with the new housemates, keeping that Natsumi spirit alive in Terrace House
And he's taking it about as well as Minori and Tamosan herself took Nacchan's questions until they got used to her, except now I don't feel bad because eff that guy
Edit: oh my god she made him cry. Natsumi taught her well
y'all, î am in Germany right now and i keep bringing up Terrace House. basically i am unintentionally taunting them with difficult-to-obtain fruit, but joke's on me 'cause i am also not watching Terrace House.

So I just started watching this right now, and I know you guys are saying Makoto is going to have a heel turn at some point, but right now he's sitting around wearing a Baylor shirt and just had code-words for the pool, so I'm pretty sure this heel turn came early.

yeah, that pre-swim conversation didn't really endear either him or Taps to me, but Yuuki at least improved from there, while it was all downhill for Makoto
Also (episode 32) Arman's reaction to one of the housemates departure has me reconsidering my stance on them
Sure, Hikaru was immature and kinda moody, but fuck, so was I at 18. He could have handled things better with Misaki, but again, he's 18 and he said himself that he wasn't sure how to handle her attention because they still had to live together so he tried his best in uncharted waters. Arman seemed really sad to see him go, which made me think there must have been more to him than what he was like when Misaki was with him, and in the end she seemed okay with how he handled it and seems much more confident now.
Also Hayoto sucks enough by comparison that I would take a grumpy youth over him in a heartbeat.

Uchi was kinda awful at first until you realized he was just an awkward dude instead of a total asshole.
Basically it takes until after Uchi week before he becomes the least worst boy of the first 3.
My opinion of him went up the week before that
I thought it was kinda shitty of Makoto to pass along to Yuki what Uchi had told him during the haircut about his date plan for Yuriko, especially the way he tried to spin it as "he's trying to steal your date idea, bro" when Uchi had no way of knowing that Yuki planned to take her to an aquarium as well
and then Yuki asks Uchi about it and they're totally cool and grown up about it and the manufactured drama just disappears
These American college sweatshirts the one host wears are baffling to me
Like, why the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy Science, of all places
That's high fashion.
RE: Arman & Hikaru — I think the most interesting thing about Terrace House in comparison to its American analog of Real World (which I guess I watched as kid?) is that you rarely go observe the participants outside of the house, and when you do its almost always on a date or just when the gang gathers to eat out. So we have no ability to understand why Arman & Hikaru are apparently such good friends, other than a presumed bond regarding their ethnic identity.
Just finished Boys and Girls in the City and I am sad. Such a great show, even if all my friends look at me like I'm crazy when I try and explain it to them and tell them why it's the best ever. The people in the house are (mostly) likable and friendly, the culture differences from America are very interesting and the panel makes me laugh every time.
Final Episode
For the longest time, I was just wishing Armen would leave the house as he was the least interesting person on the show, but I was generally happy for him at the end.
Aloha State comes in 2 weeks and it can't get here fast enough!

I'm on episode 35 next and I don't want to watch it because the title makes me sad
Like, he says some dumb shit sometimes, but he's so over the top I can't help but enjoy him. His love/hate affair with Uchi so far is perfect.
THIS MOTHERFUCKER HAS SPENT THE EPISODE TALKING ABOUT WALRUSES AND DRAGONBALL Z.
I LOVE HIM TO DEATH.
It's funny to think "oh yeah, this is from Japan and anime is just a thing everyone watches and knows about"
After the comedy show I was thinking "well, comedy is subjective as heck so I guess it makes sense that something like that wouldn't translate so well" and then the commentators all thought it was weird too and the nicest thing they could think of to say was "at least he's working hard" and I felt like maybe we weren't so different after all.

This is crushing me

I think by the end he became my overall favorite character. Hansan is second.
I hope everyone visits him in Hawaii and he can show them what truly laid back Arman is.
Man it's a great way to relive it

His chat with Arman after they cleaned the pool!
