So there used to be a pretty nice VR thread in G&T, but as far as I can tell that thread died out ages ago. Given that one of my goals with the new computer I put together on black friday was "something that can do VR", I figure it's about time to start looking into where things sit on the silly face attachments front.
Is it still just two big names, the Rift and the Vive? Did Facebook screw everything up like everyone was doomsaying? Can the Vive be used as just the headset or is it full-room or bust? Did a third option come out of left field and blow everyone else out of the water?

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

I'd personally lean towards the Vive because of Oculus's dumb fucking store, but really it doesn't matter much either way.
