I mean I'd like to think even Dan would realize how important this stuff is, but his stance in literally every other aspect of his life is 'it doesn't affect me so why should I care' , so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he didn't think this was a big deal. Like it's easy for me to imagine him just being like 'oh yeah that sucks, I hope it all works out' and leaving it at that. I would absolutely love to be wrong about that, of course.
He should ditch the heel persona. He can be plenty entertaining without it.
And Jeff is infinitely more entertaining to listen to when he's talking intelligently about the games industry and stuff like that, but he still trolls by being uber contrarian. It's a personality quirk.
Let it be said that Danny Trachtenberg of Totally Rad Show fame was the first Internet Dan I can think of who had weird eating habits and didn't know how to do certain things adults should know how to do.

You just have to be willing to look at the man vs the character and to be fair he doesn't make it easy to differentiate
