So, I need a CD cover done up with Photoshop, my friend's band just made their first "album" and they are looking for a CD cover, Any of you kind sirs able to help with this problem? Here are the specifications:

-Only needs to have a front, a back with songs names is not required.
-If possible, I would like this image to be used: http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/5058/planetma8.png
-This is the band's symbol(rough version):

plutofireve3.png

-Band's name is "Pluto Fire" or "The Pluto Fire"
-It is a self-titled album

I would like the symbol in the middle and maybe just the image in the backround making it simplictic yet cool. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!

So you don't know how to use photoshop yet you are trying to make a cd cover? It takes MONTHS to get good and understand how the program comes together. Ask in the art forum.

    Here's a quick one I just made.

    Linked just in case

The image you supplied is pretty low res for a CD, so it will come out pretty grainy. If you could find something bigger it would a bit nicer.

If you ask in the art forum, be sure to offer compensation, preferably monies. You don't have to spend hundreds, but you should probably expect to pay at least $20, and that's from the cheaper end of the scale.

I'll also say that you should absolutely not, under any circumstance, use an image that's copywritten for your CD cover. Seriously. Just get somebody in the AC to make an image like that. Hell, I'd do it (but for da monies).

I will say that if you actually scout out to find somebody who's in your price range, and with a skill level you think is decent, and you actually pay for the cover art....you'll be getting something catered to your needs, and you're paying for something, rather than "borrowing" the usage rights to some anonymous person's artwork. You'd be in the clear, and probably get something that looks really nice. Asking for free art doesn't usually offer this benefit.

Last note: the Kanji for "fire" doesn't exactly look like that. I'm not sure why you added the dots. See?

As the others have said, this is not something you'll get done for free.

Of course, you could whip something basic up within a week or two of practicing with a decent photo editing application.

Just a heads up, the picture in the background of that cover is someone else's picture, so you can't actually use it for a CD cover.

Just to let you guys know it's just for my friends and I, we won't be selling this and "making it big" or anything. I don't really have any time to learn to use Photoshop and I while I do want to learn I was just looking for a quick shop.

Edit: That image is great Dizzy can anyone resize it to a CD cover size?

Umm...I wouldn't use that image at all. Since, ya know...it's someone else's work? Irrespective of how 'big' you're going to make it. You're stealing someone's art.

It's the equivalent of someone taking your music and putting it in their film and not even mentioning you.

I think there's a difference between help and "do stuff for me please"

Yeah. Plus, I even recognize that picture as one of the top wallpapers on DeviantART. Go pay someone to make some art for you if you aren't going to do it yourself.

People are more likely to listen to your CD if you've got a really interesting, unique, nice cover. Seriously.

Same idea with cereal box designs, books, websites, etc.

Don't go out to eat once, don't see a movie once, and you've saved up $20. It's not that bad.
