Some of the things to keep in mind is that the White Supremacist movements don't view generally view fascism as a bad thing. There is a certain tendency to buy into the myths that Fascism created economic miracles for Germany and to a lesser degree Italy. And it rid the world of "undesirables". So it lacks to same taint in those circles that it does in circles where heads aren't inserted as firmly up their corresponding asses.

I haven't gone on at length about it, but the recent FCH article sums up most of my feelings nicely
tl;dr - the movie doesn't do a great job building the characters realistically, but their chemistry and earnest joy in making this put it all over the top. Definitely a "sum of its parts" kind of thing, but it still succeeds in big, enjoyable ways

Yeah, I felt that signal to suspend disbelief early on with regards to the characters, who they are, and what their lives are like, and the movie rewarded me with a wonderful little story that makes you feel all the emotions and sticks with you long afterwards.
