Marvel and SE have teamed up for a multi-year, multi game deal. First up is an Avengers game, that seems like it could be super interesting! Exciting news!

GameInformer article

This article kinda makes it sound like an MMO. "A universe gamers can play in for years to come"

Unless they're going for some kind of "Marvel Gaming Universe", I dunno... an MMO would be a little less exciting, but still potentially rad as shit.

Oof... not a lot of info out there. Every site has basically the same article. Game's not expected until next year, so I guess they just wanted to do the reveal and let that simmer for a bit. Perhaps I was too hasty making a thread... :P

So I shouldn't start my hype engines just yet?

I mean, you can... but it doesn't look like there's going to be any more info for a while. I'm excited by the possibilities though!

so Telltale Games had a panel at PAX East and part of it was talking about their partnership with Marvel and the up coming Guardians of the Galaxy game. they have someone from Marvel there too to talk about how they're handling games. big take away is that they wont be directly tied to the comics of the MCU, so developers are free to make their own stories without being constrained by an existing continuity. not sure but i think it also means that they Telltale game and the Square-Enix stuff wont be part of a shared universe. could be wrong on that last point though.

anyway here it is, for those that want to watch, if only for the Marvel related stuff.

so for now, am just gonna consider this the Marvel games thread and drop the trailer for the up coming Guardians of the Galaxy game. first episode will be available April 18th, no idea on release schedule after that though.

Batman ran like hot, stinky ass. I'm wary of GotG and TWD season 3 now...

what did you play it on? i mean, all TellTale games can be a bit sluggish at points but they've never been terrible and i certainly didn't feel that Batman was any worse than their other titles.

XBone. It was laggy as all hell, and there was tons of missing audio/sound effects. I've played every TT game, and Batman was disappointingly the worst experience I've had with them.

fair enough. as i said, i didn't notice it to be any worse than the rest of their output, but mileage will vary i suppose.
