Twilight Betty & half-dressed Cheryl in the locker room.

Is it hot in here? I seem to have broken out into a sweat.

Best episode in a long time. Cheryl just hovering over everything like the true angel of death. That hallway scene was straight out of It Follows.

The last scene in this week's episode was so incredibly silly it was hilarious.

Well, this time it's Paul Dini and not Bruce Timm, so maybe Harley will only have one butt, as is the custom.

Oh not just that. I also meant Archie filming himself with a bunch of shirtless dudes in red masks ( except that one minion who decided to keep his shirt on).

Archie and his elite squad of vigilante luchadores was the best thing ever.

    Episode 4's promo is live:
    The Town That Dreaded Sundown

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Qf5zQ3sgE
TERROR IN RIVERDALE – When Archie’s (KJ Apa) attempt to take matters into his own hands spirals out of control, Mayor McCoy (guest star Robin Givens) calls an emergency town hall meeting to deal with the growing chaos in Riverdale. Meanwhile, when Betty (Lili Reinhart) finds herself at the center of a deepening mystery, her decision to keep some parts of it from Jughead (Cole Sprouse) causes further friction between the two. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) grows concerned for Archie when she realizes the lengths he would go to seek revenge against the person terrorizing Riverdale. Finally, tensions between the North and Southside finally come to a head and leads to an unexpected showdown. Madelaine Petsch, Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Mark Consuelos and Casey Cott also star. Allison Anders directed the episode written by Amanda Lasher (#204).

I'm really enjoying this season (again). The North/South town drama is delightfully heightened (let's just shut down their high school! Because fuck them!) and Archie has a MUCH better role in the story. And new Reggie is an INCREDIBLE improvement in his role and temperament. Archie's frenemy instead of a Stephen King style evil bully. Oh and I love the libertarian (I assume) Dilton Doily lurking around too! Thankful for this show and the longer season.

The season of RIverdale was very strange for most of it, but I think it finished really strong.

I said before that Riverdale was basically the antithesis of MAGA, and season 2 really upped the ante on that. Archie spent most of the season being completely unlikable, and then some people pointed out that he was basically serving as an example for the lure of fascism.

One thing this show gets right is that the mysteries are never about the shocking twists. Instead, it's entirely about how the characters handle their self-denial, and the aftermath that follows afterwards. Part of this might be from being self-aware and genre savvy, knowing that the audience will immediately dismiss the obvious suspects in favor of the less obvious ones.

Cheryl had a great arc in general.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Kto8-JFCoI

The Serpents basically became a parable for the Trail of Tears, labeled as savages general population as an excuse for relocation. This was spelled out in an early episode, and they've stuck with that symbolism ever since.

Hiram Lodge basically assembles his own legion of doom. It's funny how "Riverdale" somehow does a better job at creating a supervillain than "Flash."

The finale was awful. It rushed every plotline to a half-assed resolution, and the end stinger was weak.

I think the best episode was Tales from the Darkside(flashes of how amazing Sabrina will probably be), but overall, S2 was a mess, and not the good kind.

Cheryl was great, I won't argue that, but they really screwed up the core four.

So apparently this season is doing a Jack Chick parody played straight.

I was under the impression that it was leading up to a Sabrina tie-in, but I guess not.

No one knows but Aguirro-Sacasa, but it seems very similar so far, the Gargoyle King stuff anyway.

Having watched the first few episodes of Sabrina so far, it would definitely match thematically to have them tie into each other, and there are a few references to Riverdale, so who knows?

That said, they're on different networks, so probably unlikely.

Same production company, though, and I don't think either has anything to lose from promoting the other.

They mention the word Riverdale 2 or 3 times.

Rather than answer pretty simple questions, Aguirre-Sacasa instead chose to be as mysterious as possible. Like, did this scene just happen before the window incident. Pretty straight forward yes or no question, right? Not so fast.

"That’s a good question, and that depends. It suggests a very deep, deep mythology where time and space bends," Aguirre-Sacasa said. "I love that kid. I’m sad that he keeps turning up and horrible things keep happening to him."

    So Jeremy Bearimy.

I haven't watched this show in weeks if not months since it lost any semblance of sanity, but I will watch tonight out of respect for LP. I'm sure they'll do something.

    So like.
Hal's obviously not really dead. But wanna bet this is how they kill Fred Andrews?

I've been having a hard time watching and seeing Luke Perry on the screen. It's been, difficult.

They've replaced the actor who played Reggie, so re-casting isn't unprecedented.

But that was post season one and Reggie wasn't that important in season one. This is a bit more.... I dunno. I'd think this one would be harder to do.

Yeah, I can't imagine them recasting Fred. He deserves a proper sendoff, he was the only character in the show who hadn't gone pants on head crazy.
