MacBook... why not?

So I'm kind of in the market for a new computer. I had it all figured out - I would get the most cutting edge things so that I could play the most cutting edge games. Thus a PC would be the obvious choice, because macs suck at gaming.

But I'm slowly realizing that I've kind of stopped using the computer for games.

Aren't macs supposedly better for everything BUT games? That's what I've heard. So what I'm asking you guys is: Why SHOULDN'T I consider buying a MacBook for my main computer?

How well CAN it play games? Like, if I got the black 13-inch MacBook... what kinds of games would I be able to play? WoW? HL2/CS:S? Just why is it that I always hear that macs suck at games and does Boot Camp help this at all?

Oh, and would the fact that the rest of my house is running on PCs with a wired cable internet connection matter?

From what I know, MacBooks have intergrated graphics. MacBook Pros do not.

The integrated video card sucks pretty hard, but it would probably be able to play WoW or CS:S

Because people are idiots. The Mac laptops can play games quite well, including Oblivion and Half Life 2. Just be sure to get the Pro version, since it comes with a more powerful video card.

People don't mean that Macs suck at games. What they mean is that OS X "sucks at games" because there aren't that many games supporting it. When you use Boot Camp, there is no difference between the Mac and a similarly specced PC. But get a Pro if you want to play those games.

    All right.

So, I was looking at the cost of these suckers and noticed that I could pay monthly. This would be a big help to me because it would take me a long time to amass $2000 but $40ish a month is only a bit of my monthly earnings.

How much would that ACTUALLY cost me? I'm 17 years old with no history of credit or anything like that.

I can play HL2 on my MacBook, though CS:S gives me a black screen whenever I try to play (this was about 4 monthes ago, so might've changed) I'm sure you can play WoW on it as well. Just don't expect to play on Ultra settings, and 2 gigs of ram is definitely the way to go. I hope you know you're paying a $150 premium to get the color black. Your wired connection will work fine on the MacBook, I just plugin the ethernet cable when I'm at my dorm, no hassles at all.
