My Dog is dying of cancer

Jigglypuff510Jigglypuff510 Registered User regular
I just literally found out, he got diagnosed today and has anywhere from 6 months to a 1 and a half years left to live, this is the second family dog we have had, anything I can do to prepare to lessen the coming pain ?

I'm so sorry. :( There's not much that you can do to lessen the pain, and I would argue that you should not even try to do that. The more you anticipate it, the more it will be ingrained in your memory. Instead, live each day as fully as you can, and spoil the heck out of that dog. Build as many happy memories as you can, as long as he (and you) have the strength to do so.

As far as when to put him to sleep, you'll know when it's time.
