I've never played Search for Earth before.

I figured there are skill cards to replenish fuel, but not food, and restoring morale via them is rare. Then pop is usually the most expendable.

Passing the next mission will help.

    @Korsakovia 2 raiders get launched
    Hedgethorn wrote: »
Is it even possible to win Search for Earth and sacrifice fuel along the way?

Very. Even without scout for fuel and the +2 distance mission, some destinations give back fuel and you can often find a 2 distance/1 fuel destination

With it, we can get fuel as fast as we cycle Tac

The President can get Quorum cards that can give moral and food, and other very useful things.

Yeah but I figured getting fuel from skill cards is way more accessible.

    Turn 9: Gaius Baltar (Daemonis)

With the Admiral away on the Demetrius, Baltar has made himself at home in the Admiral's Quarters. With the head military man gone, someone has to present an assertive, masculine character to keep humanity from descending into anarchy, right?

Continuing to offer his services to the Colonial military, the Doctor proves his mastery over technology by bringing Pegasus's engines back online. Afterall, Baltar humanity shouldn't be left without means to make a quick escape.

But not everyone takes kindly to Baltar poking around in the engine room, especially not with his colored history.

The Admiral backs the good Doctor up, but that doesn't mean people have to like it. A few captains even go so far as to strike it out on their own, taking their crews and fuel reserves with them.

If we have the resources to go for it, doing it would be really good. But do we have them? I can't contribute much...

I won't be able to help much either. And if I'm not mistaken, the Destiny Deck will be against us this time; we've already seen both Pol and Lea from there.

  • Options
    PredaPreda Registered User regular
Unless I've miscounted, there should be only 2 cards in the destiny deck, one of witch is 100% treachery, the second has more or less a chance in 3 of beeing either politics or Leadership (second card guess based on the cards in the previous check and that no one betrayed yet).

I'm going mostly from memory, but I thought there were still 4 cards in the Destiny Deck: 1 treachery and then three others. We know without a doubt we've seen three cards from Pol and Lea. I may have overlooked a check, though.

  • Options
    DoctorstrongbadDoctorstrongbad Registered User regular
If we still believe that there are no Cylons, than the check could be passed.

  • Options

I can't help much, but it'd be very worth passing if we can.

  • Options

I could throw a card or two in but that's it really, Lea/Pol is not my strong suit. The failure is pretty bad unless you plan to dump your hand anyway

There are 4 cards left in DD.

I can contribute a lot, but that would drain me of all Lea/Pol cards.

Although that might be worth it since jumping would free up a lot of actions that would otherwise be spent on dealing with the fleet.

We want to investigative committee this one?

No overt Cylon activity so far. I'm convinced Preda is human. No Cylon would have played all those cards for the centurion roll.

(or at least no decent cylon!)

Pass this, use FTL control to jump next turn? We can then use a bunch of turns recovering with no cylon ships to worry about.

No committee, it's a card better played in the check to pass it. We kind of have to jump next round, or a civilian probably goes.

so Let's go for it! Choice A.

That centurion wasn't an immediate threat for us, so his action looks suboptimal for me. Cylonish, in other words.
