I can't believe this is happening.

Night Trap is an (in)famous Sega CD game partially responsible for the formation of the ESRB because Nintendo and then-Congress were a bunch of silly geese about an interactive b-movie game.
(Congress would have liked you to think you're actually killing poor Lisa instead of failing at protecting her.)
But that's another story.
It's also a crazy story of a house plagued by ignorant special operatives("I'll check out the house, alone! Unannounced!"), bubble-headed co-eds("What's the first thing you think of?" "PARTY!"), half-dead vampire ghouls hunting for blood("They're just hungry!"), and the crafty family of vampires that brings them altogether. (They're either Ventrue or Tremere if you ask me.)
Night Trap's often reviled as a waste of the Sega CD, but if you know where to look,
there's a scary amount of depth hidden in that non-stop action of 1 1/2 hours of video footage.
Mm, homemade cherry popsicles.
Comparison of the remaster. Night Trap's literally never looked this good:

Since I missed the originals due to the time it was released (I was preparing heavy for college so stopped playing video games) I do want to get this game when it comes out. Thanks for the great OP as well as your link to your NeoGAF post (which is also awesome).

But it was super cheesy and not really anything to get worked up about.
Did not know this! Although Mortal Kombat was also out at the same time so there was that. To be honest, the ESRB was a necessary evil since we also had a similar system for movies. Some people do want to know what they're getting into before getting a game or movie.
Edit: By the way cj, your posts were the ones that made me want to buy this game!

Release date very soon, apparently. No more missed Aug sound effects!
Speaking of which...
Most impressive.

Looks like you can watch any given camera feed the whole way through.

Survival. Looks like nonstop Augs, for score attacking.

There's also an hour+ documentary being done for the release.

Deleted scenes, including what happened to the previous victims, and a cut of Danny being killed.

Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
Extremely interesting history with it, and the game itself is pretty neat for the time. I don't think it deserves its place in the video game violence controversy at all... that bathroom scene is absolutely laughable, even at the time. Hell, the corpse hanging in the other fridge is worse than that and yet that's the scene they chose?
That documentary is definitely very cool and has even more information I wasn't aware of after my delving into it a bit last month, and especially how this ReVamp is even coming about after the Kickstarter failed in 2014. What a long, weird road it has been to get to this point. And then they're working on a Night Trap 2? So bizarre.
Never?
There are kids soon to be graduating from High School that were not alive during 9/11.
You're welcome!
I'm used to the MegaCD version, so obviously anything is an improvement but still, I'm very looking forward to this.

I love that this drops a day after the Starcraft remake.
Everything old is new again.
Critical Failures - Havenhold Campaign • August St. Cloud (Human Ranger)
It was a very jank game control-wise, difficult to play in the best of circumstances and the pauses to load the reaction videos would yank you right out of the game's flow. But the production put into the actual video was great and I'd love to see the Night Trap remaster pave the way for other FMV remasters. A Mad Dog McCree with better controls and more fluid reactions would be something special.
The sequel's even better. I have the DVD version that Digital Leisure did, but its hardly perfect.

The Last Bounty Hunter was I think the third game in the same series, I played the hell out of it as a kid courtesy of an old demo CD. Its pretty much just more Mad Dog McCree, only a lot less janky since they'd had a bit of practice making them at that point. Game Grumps played all three recently as they were sold as some sort of compilation thing and I'm sad they spent so much time on Mad Dog and hardly any on Bounty Hunter.
Time has not been kind to it. It's extremely repetitive and you can die way too fast in the final area.
Bounty Hunter is great. It's the final game in the series, though doesn't really have any connections to Mad Dog. It's just a fun send off to American Laser Games and their silly westerns.

Aw man, that sucks! I hope you get a copy since you were the reason I even knew about this game. Everything is sold out right now except for the PC version. Even the t-shirt... You going to be able to snag the next upload?

I get off at six. Not likely. If anything I'd try for the blue box since I still have the red SCD original.
I work from home, I can try to order it on your behalf if you want to PM me some shipping info.
Appreciate the offer. What do they charge for shipping?
The last two times I've ordered from them(Vita games) they've charged $5.50 for first class.
I might be able to give it a go from a CPU here at six. Fingers crossed.
