The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I have an economics project due soon, and we have to figure out prices using the CPI and compare items' price changes in real dollars and inflated dollars and whatnot. This, i understand.
I cannot find the CPI chart anywhere online. The one govt regulated site is so confusing and I cant figure out where it is. I need charts, people.
I can't believe you're unable to find the tables (hell, they even have tools for making custom tables on demand), so I'm assuming by charts you mean graphical representations of the data, and I think you're just going to have to lump it and do it yourself in Excel or some analogue.
There's also a bunch of guide PDFs (CPI Fact Sheets) toward the bottom of the official main page.
The CPI basket is, in essences, a basket of goods that the common household would purchase with regularity that would impact that household’s wealth/assets. Items include a gallon of milk, butter, eggs and other consumer goods whose price would influence the household's ability to sustain itself.

Just tell the system what you want from which years, it will spit out tables. Really easy.
