[American Gods] are real if you believe in them
American Gods is a novel by Neil Gaiman (also known for Sandman, Stardust, Good Omens, and more), which has now been turned into a television show created by Bryan Fuller (also known for Hannibal, Pushing Daisies, and Wonderfalls) with a super great cast that I could probably spend this entire post trying to enumerate. It's the story of ex-con Shadow Moon, who, upon leaving prison, finds himself in the employment of the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday and drawn into a world of supernal intrigue on a road trip across America.

It starts tonight on Starz. Here's a quick chart on how to get it if you don't have Starz:
Please keep spoilers for both the book and the TV show to a minimum in here.

American Gods is probably my favorite book and the subject material is so perfectly up my alley it's like Neil Gaiman wrote that shit directly for me and I love him for it.
What Do You Worship?
He kind of is. He's racially ambiguous but it's stated his mother is black.
I remembered he's definitely not white in the novel
Extremely minor thematic spoilers if you haven't read the book:
Some of the stylistic choices like the Kill Bill blood are kind of jarring, but nothing that ruins the show for me. Here's hoping they can keep up the momentum.
ricky whittle / shadow
Apparently it's now if you have the app.
Edit: Nope!
Bilquis, apparently

I'll take it.
I got thoth
Me too! Nerd gods are the best gods.
Shadow looks different than I pictured him but I'll adjust.
The quiz gave me Technical Boy and I know I deserve that with my answers but oh my god he was just the worst in the books. Good to hear he's a little different in the show.
Read the room, man.
He's still going to be one of those vaping, white-braids-wearing hipster hackers, though. He'll still embody negative stereotypes, just an updated selection of them.
Sure, I'll take it. Kind of surprised that the overall results aren't higher for Tech and Media though.
Having just watched this
Yeah, I think I see why they went with Fuller
The whole episode felt like a surreal fever dream, and yet directly pulled from the book, in such a different interpretation visually than I had in my head
I appreciate that they didn't make her a prostitute!

I got Media.
And yeah, I already worship Gillian Anderson so this makes a lot of sense.
One of them was "Would you rather get laid or fire employees?" How about neither? "Would you rather have the new iPhone 10 or date a perfect 10?" How about...neither? "Would you rather go a month without sex or a month without social media?" I really do not give a damn about either one but fine I'll go with the sex one because I at least look at Twitter tangentially when they're posted in threads here.
Yeah, got some odd questions on that quiz.
"Would you rather trust a politician, or a priest?"
It's me, the Con Queen

It's always funny to me, what questions people think are bad on quizzes like these. Because all of those have instant snap choices for me.
I'll take it
I'm glad it's coming to Amazon Prime, and even more glad that my sister in law logged in to her account on my PS4 a few months back
Steam: Chagrin LoL: Bonhomie
It makes perfect sense for a quiz about which god you worship. There's always going to be shitty aspects when you're dealing with gods.
I'm still not sure I believe it though.
but this is the result i got on that quiz
