    And Jon Bois is amazing and fantastic, but you also gotta give props to Spencer Hall and Ryan Nanni.

    Those guys are super similar to Bois in their wit and humor.

    I appreciate that SB Nation as a whole seems to be the Giant Bomb for sports, in that they pay the proper respect to the form (not much) and spend most of their time bullshitting in funny ways

    A friend of mine sent me some clips of their draft day stream, and I was surprised to see that they have a lot of women on staff there to just be sports experts like anyone else

    I'm so used to sports networks adopting the weird Fox News model of Blonde Ladystatues as extra commentators

    Holly Anderson is fucking amazing and I wish she did more shit for SBNation.

    The few times she's on the Shutdown Fullcast are fucking aces though.

    There were a few good ladies on TSN and Sportsnet while I was still in Canada, but otherwise yeah, it's pretty hard to find sports outlets that will employ women beyond a SHOW UP AND INTERVIEW GUYS ABOUT THE SPORTS THEY DO role. TSN started pulling more of a comedic route in the last couple years and Sportsnet followed, so they got to actually be like, personalities at the replay desk which was nice.

    It should not be hard to find a woman who wants to talk about hockey in fucking Canada, CBC. Come on.

    SBNation is still far and away the best for representation, though.

    If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend Bois' The Tim Tebow CFL Chronicles.

    It's essentially a novella where Tebow joins the Canadian Football League and journeys across a magical surrealist version of Canada. It's very weird and funny and at times pretty touching.

    i am surprised by someone appreciating jon bois' humor but not achewood; they strike me very similarly when considering long-form stuff like this from jon

    less so in pretty goods or what have you
