[Destiny] D2 Beta: July 18 for PS4 Preorders; July 19 for XB1; Open Beta July 21-25!
Yay. Tonight I managed to pull off a sixteen kill run without choking at the end to earn my second unbroken medal, while running pulse rifle and sniper, which are my weakest/least used guns.
Won't be dismantling that pulse rifle or sniper... they've earned their slots. :P
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
I'm a huge fan of spreading the support abilities amongst the subclasses. One of my least favorite things about D1 PvE was how, outside of very narrow circumstances, you were almost always putting your team at a disadvantage by not running defender/sunsinger/nightstalker. There are a ton of builds that are really fun, viable playstyles, but if they weren't the one the raid encounters were tuned around, they were essentially second tier. Conversely, those skills are so class-defining that Bungie is basically forced to design around them. Such a waste of variety.
I join a Control match and suddenly get spammed by dozens of messages. I end up dropping because I thought someone was trolling me by putting my name on LFG.

Turns out it was a Bungie Bounty match. Whoops.
Amazing.

I know that sword ammo max. stacks with scabbard and Radegast. does Armamentarium also stack?
With all the reveal information for D2 I've almost completely lost all motivation or desire to play D1. I can't think of anything I still want to do except run VoG.

I hadn't seen this yet. I do appreciate that Gunslinger has a bunch of rewards for precision hits, plus GG can crit now! It encourages a certain playstyle that I enjoy. And Knife Juggler + Explodey Knife just sounds like fun!
It's not a very teamwork-oriented class,* but does seem like it will be fantastic for solo play.
I will miss Scavenger though, that was a great perk.
EDIT: Actually, Crowd Please + Six Shooter could potentially make Gunslinger the new orb-gen class, now that I think about it.
Speaking of orb generation, did anybody else notice how few orbs the Supers were creating during the Homecoming gameplay? I think all three that they showed (Defender, Arcstrider, Dawnblade) only generated 2-4 orbs each. That's similar to how Bladedancer and Stormcaller work currently.

Yeah but who knows how much those new orbs are worth

Might be old news, but....
I was watching a Datto video on the new subclasses, because I wanted to see what the new skill tree interface looks like. Apparently, I misunderstood how the new skill trees will work. I assumed you'd be able to pick and choose individual perks, the way we do in D1. But instead, it looks like in D2 you'll choose entire blocks of perks. So for example, as a Gunslinger you would choose either Way of the Outlaw or the unnamed second tree, as a whole.
That's an interesting choice. It means a lot less custom tailoring of subclasses, but the perks in each block are designed to work off each other.

And honestly probably 80-90% of players were using identical builds anyway, a lot of perks were just not worth taking. There was a lot of illusion of choice.

And maybe we won't see any more lazy Exotics that are just "unlock X node for free."
Yeah when other MMO's reduce choice I am initially "BUT MY CHOICES!" But then you again acknowledge there were only a few real options and a lot of really dumb ones that could fuck you if you didn't know the proper "meta".
And when you shorten choices you actually gain more freedom.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I was going to point out the only exceptions that I could think of, but then I realized that I tend to change blocks of perks for different situations already.
Hunter on Oryx = Quiver + Predator (default being Black Hole + Keen Scout).
I literally never change the perks that affect Armor/Recovery/Agility.
I wonder if the new version of Hunter Shadestep/Dodge-Roll will break projectile tracking like the D1 version currently does.

So say Bungie are bringing back 3 legacy exotics. Which are your favorite and what would you like to see?
Personally I want a D2 version of Pocket Infinity, Patience and Time and Hereafter. RIP in peace
Armor
Obsidian Mind - When it first hit, I was able to Nova bomb in missions like every 5-10 seconds. Its the one exotic that created lasting PvE memories for me.
Ruin Wings - Love the way these look, just make them work properly
Bones of Eao - Triple Quad Jump is the only way to hunter jump.
Weapons
Last Word - Looks cool, fun to use
Telesto - Fun twist on voopers
Hard Light - Satisfying and unique

But goddamn it is just so much fun to use. And it looks rad as fuck. AND it sounds like a tank that fires wolves that have been gargling moonshine and smoking cigars made from rocks for the last 75 years.

Chaperone.
If it's gonna be a power weapon, extend the OHK range and make it a 4/5 shot body kill. Let that magnificent thing shine where it's supposed to and make it worthless in every other area.
Failing that, just don't bring back the god damned icebreaker. Or just have it fucking break into pieces if you equip it in the crucible. Either or.

Even consistent 1080P 60FPS probably shouldn't have been expected, but 900P-1000P 60FPS upscaled to 1080P would've been nice.

You can balance just that block.

And I really always liked Invective, even though it was never the most competitive exotic.
