Over at our our forums we were pleasantly surprised when MysteryDev posted this thread regarding the 'real' System Shock 2 soundtrack. How real? Well, according to MysteryDev's words, 'real as in ripped from a CD that Eric Brosius burned'.
A few more details regarding this soundtrack:
* These are the real arrangements created by Eric himself, authored as full soundtrack songs and burned as an album. It's not a fan interpretation or anything else short of the real songs from the real composer.
* This was personally crafted by Eric Brosius from the original audio, meaning that unlike the 22khz audio files from the shipping game this release is CD quality.
* The audio quality is much higher than what's out there; this was ripped from the original CD and encoded at 320 q0 mp3
Basically, this is not only the best quality version of the soundtrack, it's the version of the soundtrack that Eric Brosius himself created. It's not a fan compilation; this is the real deal.

edit: I just saw the updated OP, so thanks anyway, but it won't be required. ;D
As in, I can't get the game to work on XP for me.
As in, I have a burning desire to play this game but no way to play it.
Tried this?
It works fine in XP for me
I did.
I spent five hours trying to get it to work.
On one attempt I had the game, but no sound.
On the other attempt, I had sound, but the cutscenes wouldn't work, so I couldn't advance to the beginning of the game.
Actually, in either attempt, the cutscenes didn't work, but for some reason, the cutscenes were bypassed in the no sound version.
My only hope is for a more recent patch, but it doesn't matter now, I don't own the game anymore.
Oh, I had the same problem mate, just rename the cutscene folder and it won't try to access them, no cutscenes, but you can play.
Lotta good it does me now that I don't own the game.
Does anyone know where I can pick this up, apart from eBay? I generally don't like to pir--erm, borrow PC games from my friend the Internet unless there's no other option.
I'll keep an eye out, thanks.
That day was the best day of my life.
I win.
i do believe the copy i have is much the same, acquired from my older brother. I always seem to play to the same, early-on point, then stop I need to kick my co-op game up again and actually try and progress.
Well there's always biosh--
Oh wait, that's a shooter.
I have a link to a YTMND of that on my toolbar for when I feel alone.
