The Senate has a scheduled a hearing for James Comey, former FBI director, it's happening in an hour and here's a thread for it.
He was fired by Donald Trump for the good of the nation even though our president knew he would be taking a political hit for it, because he is selfless. He fired him even though on three separate occasions he assured him he is not personally under investigation.
No one knows why Comey went so wrong, despite his previously stellar reputation. Comey was admired in Washington and is famous for an episode involving former Attorney General John Ashcroft where Ashcroft attempted to cover up the breasts of lady justice, but Comey stood up for her right to show nip and also worked bare chested for the rest of a year in solidarity, earning respect across the aisles as both a gentleman and a hunk. But late in 2016 he became involved in a heated online discussion that started when he said of the Marvel universe popularity "I don't get. I just don't get it," sparking a heated debate that only went downhill and earned him sharp rebukes. He is 6'8", and has met Barack Obama twice.

Warner admitting he hasn't always been a fan of Comey's decisions but has never questioned his integrity or expertise, which is why the circumstances surrounding his firing were so shocking. This strikes me as an important point for Dems. Comey done fucked up but it doesn't mean he isn't a good cop
