This past Sunday was the Tony Awards, Broadway's annual gathering to celebrate the best of the Great White Way.
Which was the best musical of 2017, [chat]?
Dear Evan Hansen
A teenager fakes an e-mail account from another teen who committed suicide to win love and affection. We've all been there, right? This one won the Tony for Best Musical, and Ben Platt won for best Actor. By Pasek and Paul, who are one of the big rising young lyrics/song writers on Broadway right now (just won the Oscar for Best Song for La La Land, too!).

It's War and Peace: The Musical! This weird show plays out like dinner theater, because the actors all dance and sing among the audience in the round. Stars Josh Groban with a really fake beard.

I normally write off movie-musicals, but this one was written by Tim Minchin, who did excellent work in "Matilda".

A charming little musical set in Newfoundland, where the newfies re-enact Riverdance. Oh, and it's about 9/11. Yes, they made "9/11, the Musical".

One of the most well-known warhorses of community theater, this one stars David Hyde Pierce and Bette Midler. It won Best Revival this year.

William Finn's headliner musical. I think this was the one that launched his career. About the struggles of a man who is coming out of the closet, after raising a dysfunctional family. There's a lot to unpack here.

It has a helicopter and a lot of Asians. You know it, you love it. You'll never leave Vietnam...

HEY
UNDERTALE
PS4
see that's where I think all laws needs statutory penalties
law says "you have to give their prescription"
so they don't... what happens? nothing, worst case for them they give you your scrip and keep trucking on
like I guess you could gin up some kind of class action... you'd have to prove some nebulous damages... it's be a fucking mess
instead make the law "you have to give their prescription, if you don't you owe them $200"
bam suddenly everyone starts complying
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies

Yes, I am aware.
I don't think I'll get it, honestly, but that collector's Edition is appealing.

You're a monster!
Dear Evan Hansen was the best musical. It won.
Great Comet is really fucking weird. It is one of the most unusual shows to come from Broadway in a while.
and the gengars who are guiding me" -- W.S. Merwin
just like how Crash is incontrovertibly the best movie of 2004.

I forgot about 'ooowww fuckin' LAPD' at the end
PSN/XBL: Zampanov -- Steam: Zampanov
I like to imagine that part was just caught on video and not actually part of the video.
