[Camp Comic] Friday, June 23, 2017 - Deep Thoughts
Ideally he should organize an exploration party. Purdy, Brian and Tanner would be great guards/company. It's probably in everyone's interest if the mystery is resolved.

I'm worried Linus is going to disappear into the deep woods.
He should tie the rope he has saved to one of the trees and use it to find his way back.
But that's probably not long enough.
But I don't want Linus to go. He's gonna be lost out there.
Marvelous hidden introspection here. Worthy of Poe or Conan Doyle. An insight has been revealed, or perhaps it has not. A character trait has been demonstrated, or perhaps it has not. A fundamental ambiguity has been shored up and we cannot tell if it is knowledge or fear of knowledge or both. Or something else entirely. The "?" remains on the map. Only now we are thinking about it.
Linus is my favorite character. Quiet with a bunch of personality. I can't wait to see him venture into the deep woods, it's going to be amazing to see him forced into survival.
I am terrified that the last thing we see in this storyline is Linus walking into the deep woods, then a single panel of the sun setting, and we're just left in the dark as to where he ends up, forever.
If you ever crawl inside an old hollow log and go to sleep, and while you're in there some guys come and seal up both ends and then put it on a truck and take it to another city, boy, I don't know what to tell you.
So at the begining there was a road Mal was dropped off on next to the camp gate. How is it this is not on the map? Also we know Brian like to scale tallish mountains to meditate. Does he know what lies beyond?
I could go into a long explanation of general relativity vs. Euclidean geometry, but no one would know what I was talking about (probably including me!) -so... a cartoon universe is a lot smaller than the 'real' one and the geometry gets wonky at much smaller distances. Long story short, you can get to the camp from the road, but you can't get to the road from the camp.

I wonder how much time has passed. Besides the obvious like facial hair, his boots are loose compared to how they fit now.

(Well, unless you've got a Tardis....)
what did you see up in that tree
was it an owl, eyes all aglow
that made you reconsider this path of woe
tell me Linus, what did you see that night
what did you see that gave you such a fright
was it scabrous hands reaching out with murderous glee
nought, but tree branches that made you flee
tell me Linus, what did you see up so high
did you see that death was drawing nigh
the parachute above, the man below, hanging
to life, was he still clinging
to help that poor soul, you did not strive
tell me Linus, why are you alive
