Creating an installation script by monitoring an existing installation as it happens

Hello nerds!
Microsoft SCCM has a thing where you can have it watch you install a software package, and it records every change the installer makes. Then it outputs a scripted install that you can use to launch the original installer, and automates all the steps involved in it.

Is there a tool that does this, but isn't part of SCCM? Because SCCM costs eleventy billion dollars.
