Roleplaying Game Events at PAX Aus 2017

edited October 2017 in PAX Australia
Once again, we have a huge team of volunteer GMs coming to PAX Aus to offer you a wide variety of RPG events!

Events begin each day, from 11 am, and continue through until just before closing time. Everything you need is provided, so whether you're an old hand at roleplaying, or are interested in trying out something new, our GMs are ready for you to turn up and play!

Many of our events will run for 2 hours, so will start on the odd-numbered hours - there may be some exceptions however, so be sure to check on the day. Places in each game are limited, so it's best to be on time!

Pathfinder/Starfinder, D&D Adventurer's League, and Call of Cthulhu will be managing their own signup process - see the relevant coordinator in the RPGs area.

As there are limited places in, and iterations of, the other games (the Cornucopia of RPGs, as we've come to call it), we will be using a numbered ticketing system, with tickets available from the RPGs Enforcer. Tickets are not required to get a seat in a game, not do they guarantee you a seat, however seats will be offered firstly to ticket holders, in numerical order, with remaining seats offered to other interested parties. Should there be more potential players than seats, individual GMs will use whichever random method they prefer to determine who gets to play - probably involving dice, since we're tabletop games!

Note: tickets are valid only for the day of issue, so as not to disadvantage people who can't attend on earlier days. Unfortunately the number of potential players far exceeds the available places, and we want everyone to have a fair go, so we also request that people limit themselves to one ticket at a time. We're big believers in Wheaton's Law.

Want to know more? Ask questions below, or come find us at PAX Aus.

Chaosium, publishers of Call of Cthulhu, will be running two different introductory adventures at PAX Aus, each 2 hours long, for up to 6 players:

Created by gaming legend Sandy Petersen (Doom, Quake, Civilization, Orcs Must Die!), Call of Cthulhu has won over 50 awards including being inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Art and Design Hall of Fame. If you've never played it, or even never played a tabletop RPG before, these two hour intro adventures are an ideal way to give it a try!
As Gizmodo.com once said about the game: "No swords. No wizards. Just regular humans, in way over their heads as they work to uncover the mind-shattering horrors of the Lovecraftian mythos. That's the promise of the Call of Cthulhu RPG, and over 30 years later we're still coming back for more."

How do we sign up for games? I never worked out how to last year until it was too late.

As our GMs are all volunteers, the availability of a particular game boils down to whether there is anyone willing and interested in running it.

Signup procedures may vary - Pathfinder/Starfinder, D&D Adventurer's League, and Call of Cthulhu will be managing their own signup process.
