Ramen. What?

DrezDrez Registered User regular
So I just ordered ramen takeout and the soup came separately from the rest of the stuff.

I did some googlin' and I guess it's normal for the NOODLES to be separate from the BROTH + Other Ingredients, but here I have noodles and other ingredients (beef, corn, egg) in one bowl and the broth is separate.

I am confused. Am I supposed to just pour the broth into the other bowl?

Also, this is a massive amount of food.

Yeah I think you're supposed to mix them. It's fresher that way.

That is normal for ramen. Submerging the noodles and letting them slosh around in the car long enough and they will get soggy and break apart. And it keeps the you probably want your other stuff like corn to taste like

As has been said, that's normal for takeout/delivery. It keeps the noodles and some other ingredients from overcooking. Just pour one into the other. I've always found the whole system of soup noodle delivery/takeout to not be very convenient or work very well overall. Tastes much better to eat in.

You're not supposed to eat takeout ramen like the pre-fabbed noodle bricks. If you let the noodles sit in the soup, they turn to mush and it's just not good. Take them home and get a big enough bowl, and then dump them together right when you're ready to eat.

To be fair, if you do that with the noodle brick ramen, they turn to mush too.
I'd imagine that most noodles do, if you leave them sitting in liquid long enough.

Thanks guys. I eventually ate the ramen by dumping the broth over the meat and peas and noodles and then ravenously and slurpingly threw it into my mouth.

    Thanks for the help.
