Need Help Setting Up Open DNS

Long story short, I’m trying to block the notification updates for my LG TV, due to the current firmware update featuring a worse looking HDR preset (that so far LG is aware of but has yet to fix it, last I checked). It was recommended to me to set up Open DNS on my router/modem in order to block the update, but so far I haven’t been able to get it working even when following the steps on the Open DNS site.
I’ll gladly provide screenshots of my router’s page, but first I would like to know what information is safe/unsafe to freely share. I want to make sure I’m not posting an IP address or something that could potentially leave me vulnerable.
