So I've just discovered that a paper I thought was due on thursday is actually due tuesday. This is very bad for me. I talked to my english teacher today, and she basically yelled at me that the other students have been bringing in full drafts for her to look at already. I realize that I should have started sooner (and I DO have research and a basic outline down) but it's never been my style to do papers like that weeks ahead of the due date. I almost always get basic research done and then a few days before the due date get it finished. Getting into college, I realize that that won't cut it any longer.
So, it comes to me to decide wether I can use one of those online resources. The ones that you pay them, and they deliver you a paper. I am in NO WAY saying I would turn that paper in. That would be dishonest to a high degree I would think. However, I am perfectly willing to submit my topic, have them write me a paper, and then use it for a large portion of a reference. I can then use the sources they use, etc etc. I would NOT be plagiarizing in this case.
That said, anyone have "oh shit paper" tips, anyone else used a resource like that before, etc?
Also, plagiarizing will ruin your life if they catch you. It's like an academic felony.
Suck it up, do your best, and try to land a C on the paper. If you already have an outline and all your research, it shouldn't be that difficult. But plagiarizing is the worst thing ever.
I realize the utmost important thing here is to not plagiarize. I submited my basic paper outline whatnot to essaytown.com, it seems reputable. The problem is, I don't have nearly as much research as I need. And the topic (Violence hampering the reconstruction after the civil war) bores me to tears. And it's for an english class, how retarded is that. Regardless, this is basically me trying to pay for a quick and decent summary of sources I can draw from.
Part of my problem is that two of those days are also going to have to be spent driving home and back. And I have tests tomorrow in OTHER classes. My time is extremely limited. Using the paper, just as a resource for research, is still something to be horribly frowned upon?

Look, you won't be able to cite the paper that you'd be paying for, so what's the point? You can't use any of it! Just go to Wikipedia and scroll down to where they cite their sources and start from there. And start working on it now and get off the goddamn forums until you're done.

Yes it would be. If you don't have the time to finish the paper because of the drive then don't go home this weekend.
Also, I think the temptation to borrow ideas without citing them from said paid paper in order to quickly solve the problem would be too much.
Seriously...Five days.
Day 1: research
Day 2: research
Day 3: Outline
Day 4: Write a bad rough draft.
Day 5: hand in or revise.
Put emphasis where you need it, but you need to plan out your time and do it now. If you did well through out the semester, one paper shouldn't be a biggie. Shoot for a B or C.
Yeah, are you driving home because your wife is delivering a baby? Or to chill with your folks? Seriously, procrastination is not something you "get rid of" in college -- lots of people wait until the last few days to do papers and other work in college, and perform very well.
But what they DO learn is that sometimes you have to sacrifice other things in those last few days in order to support said procrastination. That means bailing on friends, family, and so on, in order to buckle down and finish up.
Anything you get from an online resource like that is going to be culled from worse resources than what you already have and what you can find on your own.
Thats pretty much it, procrastination is very alive at college but the people just have to give up other things in order to finish. I knew a lot of guys that would wait until the last weekend to finish their coding project, and end up spending 30 hrs without sleep getting it finished.
5 days man? you can do it! You're much better off rolling your own paper because it's truly a gamble from places that will write it for you. Who knows what they'll submit to you.
Get some coffee goin, sit down, queue a massive playlist, and go.
Taco Bell does win the franchise war according to the tome of knowledge that is Demolition Man. However, I've watched Demolition Man more then a few times and never once did I see WoW. In conclusion Taco Bell has more lasting power then WoW.
Alright, so, the stuff I wrote earlier? yeah, that's the mental breakdown clause coming into effect. I have recovered, and am now sane. I wrote down a breakdown of the time I have left to get it done, and took another look at it. It's actually rather minor, I think. It's 6-7 pages, and it is probably double spaced to boot.
My english teacher is a vicious harpy and basically yelled at me for not already having a final draft ready. And I had a bit of a stress breakdown and cracked. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm pretty good to go now. Regained my composure and sanity.
And of course, in all this, I forgot my father is a friggen history teacher. Tuesday the paper is due by 5pm, I'll have it done by monday, drive back to school tuesday, turn it in. Should be good to go.
I wrote a 30 page capstone paper in seven hours... you should have no problem doing your own paper.

'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
For real, I'm terrible at this, as in procrastination... but the other week I wrote a 9 page essay that required lots of research in less than 3 days and still got a good grade. Do that shit.
Now me, me, I need to learn a semesters worth of linear algebra in 3 days while studying for other things. That is the issue.

Seriously. I write all my damn papers the day/night before, and have managed an A on every damn one.
Oooh aren't you the bigman. I hate you as I frantically hammer away at my geography work, which I've already failed once. I can't wait to drop this fucking subject.

You still have 5 days to write the paper so buckle down and do it. And stop procrastinating by posting here, which ironically is what I'm doing.

Although you may not be able to work it out in this situation...do your own work! You're in college for crying out loud!
