yeah it is tough to say which is worse. i'd lean towards BHB being worse, but i've played significantly less games on volskaya.

Sigh. Blackhearts Bay. Killed all of their bases except for one keep. We have 10 coins, chests spawn. Instead of going for chests and getting the cannon to kill their core, they core dive. everyone dies, loses their coins, and the enemy 180s the match. They managed to kill every single base and keep before it was over.

Can we please just play the objective and not core dive when the most powerful PvE Objective in the entire game can do that for us?

We've got 20!! I'm still looking for reserves if you're interested. I'm stepping out so that I can stream the event. With 4 teams, that means 2 matches will go unstreamed unless someone else steps up to handle it. Also, are we doing a trio cast @Dibby and @Inquisitor77?

I think for this tournament I'll go with premade teams, especially since no one wants to be a captain. Give me a few days and I'll talk with some regulars to try and make fairly balanced teams. Hopefully the extra time will give teams more opportunities to get used to each other, their hero pools, and maybe maps/strats.

Well, they did say recently-ish (like a few months ago) that they were gonna do more In Dev videos and thus each one would be individually less impressive.

We're basically not getting any new skins beyond the new hero this patch. Which isn't the end of the world.

Hanzo not in it because he'll be in his own released in a few weeks.

Publicly I'm just going to put it out there that I don't care where I am on a team, but I really don't want to be a captain. This is less a responsibility thing on the HotS side and much, much more about me just having too much on my plate right now. Work, personal stuff, competing hobbies, Christmas and multiple secret santas just have me strung out most nights of the week. I simply won't manage a team effectively and I can't drop so many other things to make room for it. Considerations regarding this are much appreciated~

It's so annoying to see people point to their stat numbers whenever questioned for their decisions. I pointed out to a Lunara that in retrospect picking Lunara against a comp with Zarya might not have been a great idea because the shields totally counteract her main source of damage with the shields, the Lunara then pointed out what high stats they had in damage and siege damage. Ignoring totally that aside from any other aspects of their play, high damage with no lethality, because all of your damage is instantly negated, is almost meaningless. Lunara has great damage potential but it's all DOT, no burst. So you can't burst someone down before Zarya sees you hitting them, as soon as you start attacking someone she'll pop a shield on them and whoops, there goes most of your DOT damage until a support can bring them back up to 100%. So yes, they dealt a lot of damage... it's just that very little of that damage was at all meaningful.

This is the one thing that performance based mmr is going to be terrible for - but these people were already playing poorly in favor of high stats so nothing will really change.

Someone on reddit pointed out that it will atleast encourage people not to give up super early in a match since theyll want to try and get their stats up to lose less points

finally done with hero league for the season went from gold 5 to diamond 5 in 177 games. ended with an even 100 wins. last game on braxxis was me (plat 1) with 2 GMs and 2 diamonds against 1 GM and 4 diamonds. queues have been awful (7+ minutes) and it kinda shows by the matchup. stukov fucking carries. over 25% of my wins were with him.

overall i think HL is fine. there are a lot of complaints about matchmaking in hots, but i don't find it to be significantly better or worse than other team based games. there are blowout games one way or the other and ideally you wouldnt have those but it literally is impossible. not simply due to the complications of pairing appropriately skilled people but simply by virtue of the process involving people. you don't know if the people on the other end are sick, tired, or hopped up of 15 cups of coffee. or any of a billion other factors. narrowing your hero pool is pretty important to climbing ive found. that and banning garrosh. there is not a hero i would ban over garrosh other than sylvanas on braxxis/haunted mines and even then it is a toss up.

pre-nerf i was running a lot of zagara but when nydus was nerfed i couldn't utilize her in the same capacity so although i went 10-2 with her she got shelved. ETC and stukov were the next major players at 15-6 and 26-16 respectively. followed by zul'jin. i ran a lot of sonya early in the season but unfortunately you can't herd cats so if your team doesn't operate under the assumption that you are doing camps or whatever then it doesn't really matter. they still fight 4v5 and get stomped. then they blame you.

warrior: 56%
assassin: 52%
support: 54%
specialist: 65%

specialist is inflated because of the high zagara rate whereas support got dragged down by attempts at using lili and BW. overall the biggest thing that caused me to win or lose game is miscommunication. for example: i ended up 5-8 with anub'arak. i tend to both pick him against teams we want to dive and play him as a dive warrior. the issue is when your team then picks super poke based heroes into better poke heroes you have a problem. li-ming is fine, but if you let karl, jaina, chromie, or KT just sit there, or allow morales to just go to town then you're gonna have a bad day

i dont really see a need to ever play HL again. TL on the other hand...
