[Camp Comic] Thursday, November 16, 2017 - Secure Line
I love that last panel. It reminds of that one with the trio around the campfire with all of the cats.
I wonder what Linus wants to find?
Is there something or someone he left behind in the Deep Woods?
He was too afraid to step foot into it before, maybe he just has an explorer’s heart?
What lies beyond the edge of the forest? Could they even reach the end? It probably goes on for miles.
Will Malachi bring up finding a child-sized skeleton in a tree there?
So many questions.
Maybe Linus just wants to conquer his fear and show to himself that his parents were wrong and that he is great? There’s no one else he could be.
So either his bag is some Hammer Space bag-of-holding thing...
Or he doesn't have THAT much rope.
For something that thick, I can't imagine his back carrying that much of it. Maybe if it was binder's twine or some thing nylon rope he could carry a lot.
On volume alone I doubt they could make it more than 50 or 100 meters before they have to decide to risk getting lost. But something that thick would probably be pretty dang heavy for a small kid to carry if it was that long.
Linus has been told all his life that he wasn't good enough, much like Malachi. But where Malachi has responded by trying to prove that not only is he good enough, he is the best, Linus has retreated into solitude and fear.
But today, Linus is large and in charge. He is pushing past his fears and venturing into unknown and unsafe territory. I applaud his character growth but I think he should have started with something a bit safer...
For whatever reason, I don't think I've seen a single bird in these woods.
so,... he has been in the deep deep woods before??
Secret Service agent, "Mr. President, our deep operative, Lyin' t' us*, is on the secure line."
P., "This is me, what you got?"
L., "Mr. President, codeword 'Fear all'."
P., "Uh, Linus, that's two words; so is it two codewords?"
L., "My apologies, Mr. President, I spell: Foxtrot. Echo. Romeo. Alpha. Lima."
...
Anyone else just thinking about what happens when you leave cats alone with any string-shaped object. (hint for non-cat owners scratching and tangling) p.s. love this comic and if i've predicted this right i will be so happy

Then again, now that there isn't a single bird leftin there, they might resort to that.
Stay tuned!
What will they do when it's time to sleep?

Linus is on a journey to find himself, BriGuy. As are we all.
