Gillete fusion phantom in the shower.

I hate to make a whole thread for one tiny question, but google isnt helping.

Would it be stupid of me to use a Gillete fusion phantom razor, the one with the battery power vibration thingy in it, in a shower?

I mean, logic would state that thered be warnings everywhere if its a bad idea. But man, batteries and showers are 2 things i dont lump together in my mind.

So, H/A, am I going to die?

I don't think they carry enough juice to do more then give you a minor shock.

But they're razors, intended to be dipped under running water or into a sink full of water to wash them off. They should be waterproofed quite well to withstand pretty much anything you want to do with them.

I'd hesitate to leave one submerged for any great length of time, but other then that you should be good to go.

    Im back, and not dead.

On a side note, Im not a big fan of the vibrator thingy in it. It seems to get a whole lot closer with it off than on.

battery shocks aren't really a terribly big deal to begin with

I do not believe it's even enough to more than hurt a little

Granted. But consider, this could be an unexpected jolt while holding an array of tiny blades next to your throat. You're not likely to cut yourself too badly, but still...

Well, looks like the OP survived his brush with electrical death, so myth busted?

I found it gimmicky. They ran out of blades they could add, so they went to something else. But, some people seem to dig it.

Personally, my face responds horribly to the new multiblade razors. In many cases, I'm better off with the older style single blade razors and then just replacing the blade far more often. It's actually cheaper than the new fangled 5 blade monsters, too.

And the Braun electric shavers are lovely.

    Way to read, geeze.

    Its a normal 5 (6?) bladed razor.

    It just vibrates.

They say its for men, but I'm starting to have my doubts.

It's a traditional style razor that vibrates. Not really electric, aside from the claim the vibrations raise hairs on the face.

EDIT: Beat'ed. Plus, with my skin/hair type it was really easy to cut myself with a cheap electric razor. The triple-head shavers (even one with some included lubrication), for example, cut up my neck something awful. And no, before somebody says it, I wasn't doing anything stupid other than trying to shave as the instructions indicated.

It's not a normal electric razor though. Unless I'm on a completley different page here, this is one of the standard razors with a half dozen blades, only this one has a tiny micropulsing motor in it just waiting for Skynet to take over so it can reap it's bloody harvest.

It only takes a small jerk of your hand to drag the blades across the skin the wrong way to leave you with 5 parrellel cuts on your face. Just the kind of twitch that would result from an unexpected shock whilst in the shower. It won't go deep enough to be lethal, not unless your really digging in at the throat (in that case you got bigger problems then your brand of razor) but still hurts like a bitch.

I've been using a M3 Power/Turbo or whatever it is in the shower for over a year, been just fine. Is it like that one? If so, you should be good.

It does say on the packaging that it's totally fine to use in the shower.

Same here, I've used my M3 Power many times in the shower with no problems whatsoever.
