hum. seems risky but okay, its just attempting an early endgame. got it.

It's a pretty proven strategy. Hunter decks built around that interaction have been solid tier three decks for several expansions and KnC gave them a lot of new tools.

Edit: I can't actually remember the name of the OG list with Call of the Wild, shamefully.

Proven in the sense that it's proven to be worse than mediocre, yeah :D

It was originally called Fun And Interactive Hunter

I thought tier 3 was mediocre? 2 was above average/meta counters and 1 was meta.

Got like 1 legend and maybe 4 epics in those 30 packs. Voraxx or whatever it is called. Great... Haha.

995 dust (not including epics I'd dust, Voraxx, and goldens).

I'm sitting at 3360 dust (before dusting these cards) and a bit over 1000 gold for next expansion.

Depends on how you count your meta. VS basically groups decks by win rate. For example, they currently have T1 as being 52% win rate or higher, T2 as 50% to 52%, T3 as 48% to 50%, and T4 as being under 48%. T4 is everything beneath that. Spell Hunter is a T4 deck as of the most recent VS report, with a 45% win rate, basically the same as Big Spell Mage, about 4% higher than Exodia Mage, and about 7% higher than Kingsbane Rogue. Given an average player in an average meta, a T4 deck will lose a little more often than it wins. Player skill, meta, and luck might push its win rate higher (or lower).

Oh I always thought it was Tier 1: Best/Tier 2: Decent to mediocre/Tier 3: Below average but you can make it work if you're really lucky or skilled/Tier 4: Pretty bad/Tier 5: Donald Trump

I'm really curious if a minionless or Y'Shaarj package-only Hunter can compete now that aggro decks are probably going to be slower. I sure hope so, it's a really fun shell.

Did you guys know that if you play a Scavenging Hyena onto a board primed for Defile, the opposing warlock will encounter a divide by zero error and lock up?
    It's pretty hilarious.

I don't know about the Spell Hunter yet, but I've been playing Secret/Kathrena Hunter. It's a ton of fun.

I tend to chose Hunter in Brawls and my opponent chose Warlock. It did not end well for them... Especially since I got the warlock weapon and a large demon for free the next round. They kept on choosing the macaw for some bad reason.

I was kinda thinking: how would the meta shakeups be if, instead of rotating 3+ expansions at a time every two(?) years, they rotated out the oldest expansion when a new one came along, timed so that a set had 2 years before it moved to Wild. You'd be trading one huge meta bomb for smaller ones continually cycling, and the card pool count would stay more even rather than steady rampup and then a board wipe. Do you all think we'd see more Reign of Patches or less? Was this a set up the dev team considered and ditched for what we have now, and what are the advantages that would have stayed them this way?

Back to back Big Spell Priests this morning. Beat them both, but each game was really hard fought. Here's the second game:

Goddammit do I hate Priest. I don't know what it is about them but every time I lose to one it was the most un-fun fucking game I've ever played.

I could lose to Warrior all day and have fun. Lose to Priest? Rage of a thousand suns.

If I could make a deck that just beat every single incarnation of Priest and lost to everyone else I would play the hell out of it.

Whatever you do, do not play as mage in this week's brawl.

At a base 5% chance per pack of getting a Legendary, IIRC you have about a 20% chance of not getting a Legendary from the Mammoth bundle.

Been frustrating at times today, seen a lot of misplays from my opponents but either insane draw on their part or poor draw on mine has prevented me from taking advantage.

However at times I pull off some cool plays (if I do say so myself).

Opponent has a Mistress of Mixtures on board and I have a Grand Archivist up. I only have Mind Control left so I deliberately kill the Mistress of Mixtures to make sure it doesn't use up my Mind Control in the deck.

Feels pretty obvious to me what I've done, telegraphing the fact I only have Mind Control in the deck to the opponent and that he needs to play around it.

But no, they play Possessed Lackey and Dark Pact it which summons a Void Lord.

I build up my board without over-extending (I'd already built up a rather large card advantage by putting his Skull of Man'ari in a museum) and pass the turn, grand archivist -> mind control grabs his Voidlord.

He loses after his next turn. I'm not entirely sure what he was trying to do, but it looked like he was on the cusp of figuring out some insane defile turn but ran out of time thus leaving up the exact lethal I had on board.

Idle thought for a Hearthstone card. "transform both player's weapons into another random weapon." The idea being that their weapon would be transformed, not replaced, thus no deathrattle activation. Because there's no weapon removal that doesn't trigger a deathrattle at the moment. This would be a handy tool against Kingsbane or other deathrattle weapons, and it'd be a very good card to run in a Rogue deck, which has an easy method of getting a cheap weapon in hand.

Possibly too good. You can use it when your opponent has a good weapon (with the small risk that they'll get a better one) and you can use it when you have a bad weapon (with the small risk that you'll get a worse one). So it'd be versatile.

I wouldn't mind a card that silenced weapons. I know that's situational but if they're going to keep making legendary weapons for every class, I think it might be needed.
