Does the rested bonus last for 3 full levels worth of xp or three level ups?

Ugh. It's the dawning now isn't it. Everyone else is all "there's nothing to do", and I'm here like I will never even have time to get a couple more prestige raids done to complete my sets because there's something new every week.

After some googling, this seems to indicate 3 full levels worth:

No SRL? No interest. I'm not particularly enamored of the Fancy Christmas Beetle armor, so I don't see myself putting a whole lot of time into Dawning-specific activities.

I am kinda excited for Mayhem, though.

Yeah they front loaded the disappointment a couple months ago when they said no SRL (and also obviously no Festival of the Lost) in order to get all of their systems up and running.

Sparrow Racing League. A mini-game about racing Sparrows on tracks on different planets/locations. Passing through gates to keep speed and boosts up etc etc.

SRL wasn't like... a legit racing game or anything. But it was fun.

SRL was a great part of D1.

I didn't think the narrative was even close to it "sucking, hard"

Only bad people that hate fun think SRL sucked.

It was a fun with friends racing mini game using an engine not designed for it. It was a net positive. If you complain about janky physics while racing a sparrow in a FPS and expect like Mario Kart quality stuff...I just don't know what to do for you.

Yea, SRL was a very good mini-game slash diversion from Destiny's basic shooter gameplay. Like it would be a horrible stand alone racing game with some of the bugs but for something put together in an engine not made for it they did a very good job with it.

SRL was very fun when the geometry worked, which was most of the time. except during the final lap of a race you were in first place in.

The Dawning isn't appealing to me because it will require micromanaging my vault collection even more so minimal participation from me, I guess. IDK.

it was a lot of fun

at first it was fun to actually race and be better than people

then quickly it become bumper cars troll town with novelty horns so you had to sort of reconfigure your perception of fun

I feel like the people who enjoyed SRL are the same sorts of people who spent hours in the Gold Saucer in FF7 playing the snowboarding mini-game. Not for rewards, but for fun.

SRL is necessary because it would mean that they would have to bring back sparrow horns and I demand the return of sparrow horns.

    Seems pretty accurate.

SRL was really my jam, and I have dedicated a lot of time to the mini-games in all of the FF games. Be it Triple Triad, Blitzball or Tetra Master.

I also love Arcadey race games that don't take themselves incredibly seriously, so SRL really fit in with that too.

Plus I was good at it. That helps a tonne.

I loved SRL. Probably helped that I was pretty damn good at it. It also is way less stressful for me than normal crucible, which might have a correlation to doing better at it. Hmmm.

I got the Gemini Jester pants last night and they seem not good and I wonder if I was doing it wrong. My first thought was Nightstalker but you dodge to invis to open an engagement, if you're doing it around people then you're generally doing it wrong. I wonder if it'd work better trying to be a punchy poledancer but that super is so bad but I'm going to try it tonight because

if class abilities charge faster like everything thing else in Mayhem then hunters in particular are going to get fucking crazy. There will be ten ninjas in every match.

Yeah, I'm not convinced on the Jester's viability.

I tried it out in crucible, and I definitely seemed to be getting kill credits for people that I hadn't shot (presumably because I hit them with the jester perk), but pretty much all of those were post-mortem. It did very little to stop me from dying once I was that close.

SRL seems like it has to be coming in some more formal form with Destiny 2 because if it's not, almost every single Sparrow perk you can roll makes no sense.

I could see that, but at the same time it'd be asking for trouble because the best sparrows would be random rolls from the Eververse store (you'd need 160 speed plus aerial manoeuvrability or maybe quick repair?).

Reddit would easily build themselves into a froth about it being pay 2 win.

Kinda surprised they haven't brought trick sparrows back yet. That was one of the first live team additions in Year 1 (IIRC one of the designers was inspired by the fact people were doing tricks on the regular sparrows in YouTube compilations).

Trick Sparrows would be pretty important for SRL due to the boost refresh the tricks supplied.

Have you done any tricks on a sparrow yet? Pretty sure they do restore boost from messing around on the Mercury Strike.

Slightly off topic - but I now have this song stuck in my head:

Although - if you play it at x2 speed, it could be a SRL race song.

dont get me started on ff8 (get lionheart on first disc and never lvl squall ever)

also, gemini jester apparently breaks aim assist on console which means its completely broken in some pvp engagments. I see trials people running 4 hunters for this reason

This can be easily solved. Have it where you can visit Amanda and she has a selection a generic white sparrows, one for each perk, and they're all 160 speed and free. That way it's fair, you won't be at a disadvantage, you'll just look like a chump with your plain white sparrow.
