Marvel Ultimate Alliance : A question

Hey, I just bought this game and its great, but in the manual it talks about creating your own super teams and naming them with logos n stuff, and I can't figure out for the life of me how to do it?

Do I have to get to a certain point in the game perhaps? Or is there a console to use to make it happen?

Anyone got this game and know how to use the My Team feature?

At a certain point, you can start. It pretty much tells you HAY DUDE, MAKE A TEAM.

Yup, its the Atlantis mission. I was getting vaguely confused as to why it didnt work, and decided to give up and the next thing I did was go on the mission.

    like you guys said

It will pretty much tell you to do so.

Don't get excited, it won't say the name, or give you any bonuses at first. So don't expect to see "THE AVENGERS +15% Exp Bonus" pop on the screen.

Eventually, your team becomes the best group because of all the bonuses they get, but early on you might wanna just worry about getting familiar with guys you like.

And not until about Act 2, mission 3 or so will you be able to change team members, so don't put someone you're INTERESTED in using, but guys you KNOW you'll like.
Mine was Spidey, Luke Cage, Iron Man, and Human Torch and they were a pretty good team, very balanced(wide range of power, 3 guys with Might, 2 with Flight, 3 with travel powers. Unfortunately, fairly useless supers across the board).

You know, at first I had visions of trading my Wii version of this for a 360 one (when I ever get a 360) because I thought rotating the camera by tilting the nunchuck was the most annoying thing ever

    But man

Having access to all your powers all the time kind of rocks

Seriously. Human Torch becomes an automatic explosion machine, Spidey can just Web Warrior to his hearts content, and Luke goes from "lol powers?" to just Jabbing a path through everything.

I never really did much with Luke Cage.

I hella liked Spidey, the Human Torch, and Iron Man, though. Spidey mostly for his slowdown ability. Iron Man for being, like, the best character in the game, and Human Torch for his AoE ability.

There's a disclaimer on the DLC that says "DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS IF YOU OWN THE GOLD EDITION."

This leads me to believe that there will be a rerelease somewhere down the line with the extra chracters.

Also, wasn't Hawkeye a PSP-only charcter at first?

dude, i love the wii version.
i played it on the controller for the xbox for 4 hours.

i cant go back. throwing caps shield into a bunch of enemies trying to rape my teammates in a group and knocking their asses down. way too fun. and flicking enemies behind you with spidey. man. doesnt make me feel like him, but sure is fun.

the absolute BEST part about the wii version is that you usually dont even have to cycle that much. lets take thor for example. need his pop up special? dont cycle, flick up! too lazy to keep jabbing forward for his hammer smash charge move? cycle to it and press A. need a pop up but dont want to cycle to it then cycle back? leave it on the power smash move and just flick up.
what im trying to say is that YES the 360 gives you access to all the moves without pressing pause by using the d-pad. but the wii version gives you instant access to nearly ALL moves without cycling.
the only moves that require cycling are the "buff your team" moves that require A.

i shelled out for this game. easily my favorite wii game. then again im a comic dork.

sometimes i just send in 2 and 3man cell teams to make things fun.

team assasin: electra, wolvie and deadpool
team kirby: Classic Cap, Classic Thor, Classic Ironman
    F-ck Blammo!: Thor, Thing, Colossus
my usual team: Big Bengy, Cap, Thor, Deadpool [for some reason he always manages to be the last one alive if i screw up]

and REALLY fun scenerio for those who got bored? i call it WW2 with freaks

go WW2 cap as your team [thats it] and go to crimson dynamo's scenerio. dont face him till the last 2 mins.
have fun getting raped/ representing the american nation

Never played the Wii version since it came out after the others, so I got the 360 version. Love it, though I haven't beaten it. Hell, I haven't even downloaded the new characters (though mostly since I don't like having to pay extra). If I were to choose now I'd probably pick the Wii version, cause it's different. :P

How come nobody mentions Ghost Rider?

Hellfire is a hugely damaging ability, his chain attacks can juggle multiple enemies, and the Auto-Resurrect ability from his Original costume is awesome in SP when your teammates are being dumbasses (Mandarin's palace AMIRITE?).

i was pretty psyched when i got ghost rider, but i try to die down using all the characters so i can extend the replayability. but i do love the screaming and making people run away into corners. i cant stand that lame move where he breaks his chains into bits. just doesnt doesnt look cool. i do love his little scorpion "get over here" technique. does anyone know if that acts more like spidey's web throw? and i wish his flame was a little more like the human torch's move.

at one point, i did that straight chain move, i glanced away for like a moment at another character, and when i glanced back, ghost rider was slamming the chained enemy into the ground multiple times, still attached to the chain whip. ive never been able to replicate this move, anyone ever run into this?

You didn't like the character or the abilities? 'cause I love doctor strange; doubly so now that Dr. Orpheus is the best character on the Venture Bros. They should have just had those guys voice the characters.

As far as what he could do, having him on your team is like cutting the difficulty in half. His "Eye of Agamotto" regenerates health on the whole team, and Falteen Flames is easily the best move in the game. It's a radial attack that causes damage, then absorbs health and distributes it to the whole team. Black Magic randomly turns the target into a crate, no matter how much health they had left. The crates leave orbs and/or money when broken open too.

I really want to put Venom in my team, but his powers aren't that great. My team is Spider-Man, Spider-Woman (the wife's character), Deadpool, and Dr. Strange.

    Grab them, then hold attack.

Generally, the grab attacks are the awesomest moves in the game.

Damn it all, I just got to Mephisto with my team and I lost Captain America when he fell off a ledge, and Thor on the big group fight before mephisto. So I jump into the whole, expecting a save point before the boss like always before but no luck. I have try and fight him with just spiderman and ghost rider. I can get to the point where Jean Grey comes back, but not a step further, ghost rider just doesnt have enough life and Spidey just doesnt have the instant damage so they just get worn away.

And now my damn save is right back at the start of the level, most frustrating. I think I will extract and take my team on a villain level to gain some levels, its annoying that you dont get your team back when you restart at a checkpoint though!

edit - I noticed ghost rider doing a cool chain move too! Periodically he would jus grab mephisto with his chains and slam him into the ground. Mephisto would then take ages to get back up and spidey could get some good damage without being feared off. I however could never figure out what this move was despite ages of fiddling, you certainly couldnt grab mephisto, he is a big charecter like the fire giants and thus immune to it.
