So I mentioned a few [chat]s ago that my union is engaging in a strike as well as action short of a strike (AKA "don't reschedule stuff that happened during the strike"), which my employer has decreed that it's intending to withhold 100% of my pay for.
It turns out that the action short of a strike is scheduled to last for four fucking months.
This is well into "time to look for a new bloody job" territory, here, Jesus Christ.

I think it's actually probably time for your union's lawyers to see if they are legally able to withhold your pay for the second bit.
I highly doubt the union is planning on y'all not being paid for 4 months (or any time at all other than the strike period)

Since I'm late to the Hoboken thing I started I'll just add that Hoboken is incredibly tight. Like the entire city is a mish mash of one ways and the main drag Washington St.
Like to the point that the city could ban cars everywhere except the outskirts of the city and Washington St and it probably wouldn't make a meaningful difference to 9/10 residents.

Our employers are, apparently, legally able to dock pay - it's reasonably classed as a breach of contract.
The union certainly wasn't planning on us not being paid because in previous disputes the employers haven't ever docked pay for action short of a strike. It's a pretty nasty escalation tactic in this case.
Lunch dilemma: Should I lick the leftover ranch out of this dipping cup? There are people around, and I should probably let it be. There's a good amount of ranch in there though, and I wanna tongue punch the hell outta this cup...

It is embarrassing but I have orgasmed right as we were about to have sex before. It was pretty hilarious.
This has happened in the last six months.
Sometimes, y'know. Sometimes.

Just be completely casual as you carry it to the bathroom.

Get yourself some lobster and dip that in the ranch to get the last bits.
I am good on anything lobster related for a loooong while!
I ended up fellating this dipping cup as low key as possible. If my coworker noticed, he's not saying anything so I think I'm good. Also probably a pig, but who wants to waste a good ranch? Not this guy.

Can they dock pay such that several pay periods are below minimum wage though? Like I guess that'd still suck but its nonzero money.
I don't mind driving but I hate traffic. Perhaps the solution is for everyone else to get off my road.
Town and Countryside, 1932:
A motorist is apt to complain of the ‘overcrowded’ condition of the road if he finds he has not continually got a whole mile-long stretch of it to himself, but is one of a widely spaced and rapidly moving queue of half a dozen or so. He will declare there is no pleasure in motoring under such conditions. He will search his map for some alternative route by quiet lanes where he can speed along with the road to himself. And when others find that alternative route and all further alternatives are exhausted, he proceeds to demand a new road system so that his motoring may again become a pleasure.
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

Yeah I'm gonna do a subnautica planning/speedrunning stream tonight. Gonna try and use the Streamlabs OBS (Built in twitch chat! Screen real estate!) and build myself a doc with a plan of attack and required materials. I'll probably drown a lot but it should be fun!
I wish it was feasible to ride public transit to work.
But it adds an hour each way at minimum to my commute which is just not worth it. I use to do it before I could expense my parking. I would leave at 7:00 am to get to work by 9.

You just know employers are looking for ways to bring back scabs and strikebreakers like in the early days of the workers rights movement

Actually it's Twenty Four Second VH, which is the most seconds that can exist in a single group
A shame.

You already used up all 24? How did you go through so many?
VH takes this seriously. Each character like a masterwork. Steel folded 100000x etc
I made the post and saved it to my drafts?
I'm not saying this was a masterpiece or anything. That was Wid[chat].

LA is barely a city, it's a suburb turned cancerous
Town and Countryside, 1932:
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Its more like 12-18 cities with their own suburbs that are all smashed next to each other.
