the OVERWATCH thread just instalocked symmetra on offense
Arguments could be made for other people (Fissure springs to mind), but it couldn't really be anyone other than Jjonak. Also, he was technically on LW Blue (the team that became NYXL), but I don't think he played in any actual games before OWL.
The only thing I can possibly think is that Fissure had a minor conduct issue of some sort. Obviously not injured or sick and I can't imagine that iRemiix has actually proved himself to be a better choice than Fissure. The statement sounds like Fissure messed up a bit by not being ready for practice.
Oh my that's a sneaky play there. Surefour picked Brig and the Glads sent everyone around the long way to the high ground on King's Row. Except Surefour didn't actually go with them and stayed at spawn. Once the other 5 got in position and London had rotated to the other side of the point, Surefour switched to Widow and immediately picked off Birdring and Closer from the upper spawn exit. Map win, match win.
I am in love with that attack strat from LAG. That flank to the high ground, leaving London exposed to Widow when they rotate.
Disguising it with Surefour as Brig and banking on London not actually keeping track of how many enemies ran through (or not being able to) is brilliant.

Quotes from Fissure's twitch stream (translated)
"To be concise, iRemiix was better than me in scrims and he was better fit in this meta, the Hanzo meta is too aggressive for me, and iRemiix's playstyle and synergy with the team is better. So they [Coaches I'm assuming?] asked me if I'm okay if they play iremiix, so i told them 'This is a professional league and it's okay to use the better player"
The tweet says I want to get out of the team? To respond... This is not 100% wrong, but its more like I always believe language consistency is important, so I wanted to go either 100% English team, or 100% Korean team.
The team wanted to support me, that might be a good thing for me but not for the whole team. The reason GLA is a good team is not because of me but all the players and coaches etc as well as the language... I didn't want the team to do extra things just for me. So it's not like I wanted to leave the team.
I actually didn't want to talk about those problems, because I knew there are gonna be these kind of rumours, but this idiot slasher made it necessary for me to explain. All the evidence that these rumours are not true are in the discord, but I can't just show all those [private conversations] on stream you know? So I took some screenshots [Not sure if these were shown on stream, if they were and someone could comment it'd be appreciated]...
Anyway so you don't have to worry, and please keep supporting GLA! As you've seen the match today I don't understand why iRemiix is considered generally not better than me, he's better at understanding the meta. (Also I didn't really want to do this stream because I would have to say and admit that I'm not as good as iRemiix at the meta...)
This is cool. OWL is going to be on ESPN. It’ll mostly be on ESPN 3 and Disney XD, but the first day of the finals will be on ESPN proper. It can still all be watched on Twitch or MLG.
does putting esports with its current culture on a disney channel seem like playing with fire to anyone else?
IIRC they already ran Smash Bros on that same channel at Evo or something.
I think when it comes to broadcasting, it’s a bit safer, since the only thing people will see/hear is the game and the announcer. But yeah... when a kid that sees it on TV decides to check out a livestream, they’re in for a world of dirt.
I used to be around 3100SR in this game, stable for the first 4 seasons.
Since then, I've only gotten better at the game, the characters, and the game sense.
And yet, today I fell the lowest I ever was, 2340
I have no fucking idea what to do. I'm doing callouts calmly, picking the classes I do best where they fit best, basically everything I've been doing at the beginning, only better and more calmly
And yet I only lose, lose, lose, all the fucking time. I am at top metrics for the classes I pick, when I don't have all possible and Impossible golds, that's usually one of the rarer games I do win, because the rest of the team is doing better.
This game feels like an absolute lottery to maybe somehow get a decent team that's not trolls or people who play like it's their first time on their brother's account.

You'd be surprised how many little kids play and follow Fortnite content(which like OW is your general FPS/TPS fare). Not that I necessarily think that's a good thing but it is a thing.

Pine is outstanding
He 100% got eye on the first go at putting them on, the fact that he kept composure there is impressive.
