I'm about at the point where I need to start playing Champion for a challenge, but I want my level 20 talent first

They'll open a bunch of whites at level 1 though. I honestly don't think that method is worth it too much unless you're good with whatever your level 30 has available.
Also I wish the Hand Maiden was good and not a terrible mixture of traits that don't make an even passably playable character.

like you'd think you'd mainly want to hold it for escapes, but it also does damage, so if you try to use it for that it's really easy to wind up completely surrounded because you dashed into way more enemies than you realized
it also doesn't give you any iframes at all so dashing through enemies who are currently attacking you is incredibly risky, and they almost always are doing exactly that, thus making it not great for escaping, either
Hold block when you dash (also do this when leaping as Slayer)
It's really good against shield enemies and stormvermin, you get the automatic bleed damage and can easily flank them
Also handy in some cases for dodging past bosses, since you'll go right through them

as shorty has alluded to, it's really all about the delta between HM/Shade and Wayfairer, because Wayfairer is a GOD, and is always good in any situation, map, difficulty, etc
i just got an orange that gives me a 20% chance to dupe my healing item... could be a nice game changer... not reliable though. I haven't gotten many useful oranges so far, and I'm not one to reroll

The dash by default inflicts a bleed / stagger, the level 25 talent adds damage but reduces the stagger duration

It's entirely possible it's bugged, but dashing through a Chaos Warrior causes the "armored" icon to pop up, so there is some kind of damage component

I find the power system so dumb but w/e games fun
The sweep attack seems much more satisfying to me in this game. I may try a Glaive Glaive Guisarme Glaive when I find one. ;-)
Also, in order to help others I'll mention this, I was crashing about 5 times an hour. Usually with an audio stutter stuck on repeat when it happened. I disabled in game chat and lowered the number of blood decals. I haven't had a problem since I did this. I don't know which one fixed it. My friends and I use Teamspeak so it's not really a problem but I hope they fix whatever is causing this. And yes my audio and video drivers are up to date.

In that you dash through a bunch of trash mobs and turn around to see them all slowly crumple to the ground from the dot.
When the power of your gear is at 200.
Replace it with your gear score. Or nothing at all.
Almost feel like it should be instant damage just so the power is more visible in that case.
a cool thing they could do instead of making it a super fast recharge as it is currently, make it a normal recharge, but allow you to use it twice in a row... then you could break lines and return to safety
right now there's a lot of risk for little payoff... and in situations where there is no risk... it's hardly worth doing anyway

by all means, if you have fun with them, please do
just don't be surprised if you have to work twice as hard as you would have
most things hit so hard that you'll die before it can be of any use, especially if you're collecting any grimoires

i've generally found that unless I am personally carrying in quickplay i dont win. but this changes in Champion, where apparently people have enough shame to not queue if they are unsure where the block button is
but for leveling up other heroes it's pretty brutal having to choose between being extremely bored in recruit, or losing in veteran because you're not 100 hero power too high for it

I was playing with a friend and some of his co-workers, and his two co-workers tried veteran for the first time with us. We were on the level with the nurgle growths you have to pop at the end, and we were doing... okay. Definitely having some trouble though, and I was like "Okay, we should probably just skip the second grim. It's a huge pain in the ass, we're already having a bit of trouble and we'll probably take more damage trying to get it than the enemies will deal."
Nope, had to try and grab that grim, wasting all our remaining healing supplies in the process. We finally get it, then once we get to the next section everyone but me gets wiped out by a horde with a chaos warrior. I run my little dwarf-ass raw while turning around to fire at pursuing enemies with my drakefire pistols, and manage to murder/run my way to all my allies who had respawned. I get two of them up, but get grabbed by a leech and then the two I got up get wiped out again. It's like... man, maybe we shouldn't have wasted a ton of resources and time to grab an item that only weakened us further when we weren't doing hot?
regular ol' kruber is hard to replace. back to salty as my backup hero

Wasn't that limited in the first game? Granted, I know it's a weak attack, but an unlimited ranged attack is still a nice bonus.

you can't use it to kill a special or anything like that, its sort of a 'get off me' move
