Hey nerds! Who likes eating garbage-ass food?
We all do.

Talk about it here.

I want a big ass plate of nachos please. Thanks.

So they had a free taco event for people who do volunteer work at my place of employment

And they had these taco shell boats? Like it's a hard shell but self contained and more durable and I wanna make a plate of those and have like artisinal hand crafted individual nacho boats.

    What's your topping choice?

    My usual:
    Chili con queso
    Sour cream
    Jalapenos
    Spicy salsa
Ground meat, pulled pork, or shredded chicken
    Guacamole
Black beans or refried red beans
    Black olives

    speaking of bad food

I have discovered that my hate for cabbage only extends to cooked cabbage.

Raw cabbage in a salad doesn't seem to be that bitter, or, rather, bitter to the point of being unpalatable for me.

not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me

    coleslaw is pretty great

I mean actual homemade coleslaw, not the store stuff that's 90% mayo

I still dislike mayo a ton and I'd rather just not eat anything that's covered in just mayo. Seasoned mayo is okay, as long as the thing isn't just drenched in the shit.

most people in Ohio spend a lot of time thinking about how to escape ohio.

That said, culinary it isn't all as dire as skyline chili.

We got Bob Evens for one. it's like a more welcoming and less country bullshit cracker barrel.

Oh also Tony packos. their hot dogs are pretty good.

ohio is also where Dave Thomas started Wendy's.

We also unfortunately spawned the horrible meat mess that is Arby's.

Aw, why we gotta be hating on Cincinnati chili? Much as there's room in the world for all the different kinds of barbecue, Cincy chili can be a good thing separate from just-as-tasty Texas chili.

I'm at Arby's for lunch, they've got two new sandwiches on promo, a Texas brisket and a Miami Cuban. I ordered the Cuban and it's actually pretty good! They used good pickles and the slices of roast pork are both tender and fairly tasty. It's also a straightforward Cuban which is good for me, I don't generally like Cubans that stray too far from ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard.

Cuban sandwiches make me somewhat angry. Why isn't other cuban food that popular, like ropa vieja and tostones. Mojo should be a table condiment.

fuck I haven't had a good Cubano in so long. There's supposedly a great Cuban place in Boston, I just need to find time to actually get over there.

Chili macaroni is a tasty combo. It kinda makes me what to try Skyline chili. Just the spaghetti, chili, and cheese though; no onions.

    Onions are disgusting.

    Also maybe half the cheese.

Skyline chili is, decidedly not delicious.

Is it like, chili in the traditional sense with beans and peppers and chili seasonings, or is it just a sort of weird take on a bolognese

Like, why are toasters banned at @Veldrin's office?

And I'm so glad to hear that Niko eats just Butter @Janson. It makes me feel better. I've taken to bargaining with Ellie that she has to eat some of her other food if she wants a bit of butter.

One of my cousins (way older than me, like...60ish now?) was notorious for stealing these things my grandmother would make with fresh risen cream from the cows, sweetened and spread between some hard cookies in the freezer. It was a chest freezer, and he was a smile child, they feared he would fall in and die. As was the habit in those days, they gave him a "whuppin'" He did it again, he got another whuppin, and again, and again and again. I don't know any higher complement to food.

That sounds delicious, even without the physical courage to recommend it.

And it was technically New Mexico, although it was six miles from Texas and 40 miles from Oklahoma, so any stereotypes you wish to apply from any of those states are entirely fair.

We are literal hillbillies from NC, any stereotyping is done with love. A recent family reunion: "So you know why granpappy loved fast cars so much? he was running shine! we found the account books, don't think g-maw even knew. Makes sense, he couldn't grow tobacco worth a darn."
