What bug is this?

So I noticed tiny little bloodstains on my sheets where my legs would be

Immediately thought "Bed Bugs" and started prepping to get everything washed, vacuumed, and ready for a pest control specialist

Then I caught this bug crawling on my bed and I'm not sure if it's a bed bug or something else?

    That looks like a carpet beetle, but the little bloodstains on your sheets is a bit disconcerting. May still want to investigate that.

    Googling has led me to believe that bed bugs would leave a darker, less reddish stain than what I have

    so that's a mystery

    That's not a bed bug, that's a carpet beetle (maybe, most likely)

    you may still have bed bugs

    flip your mattress and look underneath after stripping sheets

    We haven't seen pics of Ringo. Could be a bug upset at the incursion of an opposing species.

    Hardly. If there was an established bug colony here, I'd be hiring mercenaries, burning the resources, and screaming "Manifest Destiny!"

    No this is clearly some rogue factor sneaking in the dead of night
