Theyre a holdover from the original 2099 suit so I give them a pass

I own that dumb issue with the spider armor. It had a hologram on the front. IIRC the guy in the mask is fighting someone else that can control seeds and that’s why spidey is wearing the armor, to keep from getting killed by seeds/spores.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

The best white colored spidey suite is the Spider-Gwen suite come on gimme dat hoodie.

So so far the combat seems to be a mix of Arkham, DMC, and some Spider-Man 2 stuff
You have the patented Arkham "hit stuff to increase your combo counter, and when it is high enough press triangle and circle for a takedown". Which it looks like you can also do in the air for sweet looking air takedowns.
I haven't seen any arkham style counters, so I'm assuming they want you to focus more on dodging and movement to avoid damage, spider-sense going off to warn you when you're about to take a hit.
Webshooters web up dudes like in most Spidey games, but in this they also seem to function a bit like Dante's pistols, where if an enemy is airborn you can shoot them a bunch to keep them aloft, with you either on the ground or in the air.
And if you're in the air you can yank dudes up to you like Nero's devilbringer or Nu Dante's yank thingy.
And you have the classic Spidey Rodeo which looks like it was lifted right out of Spider-Man 2.
edit: Oh god, in the resetera forums people are nitpicking over how long he can stay in the air, and I was looking really close at a gif and it actually looks like you can see him shoot webs up into the sky periodically to help keep himself airborn during long air combos. That's perfect.
Wouldn't be a good Spider-Man game if there weren't at least a few "oh man that person is Dead with a capital D" moments and then you merrily swing away.

His spidey detective vision will tell us that they are okay. In the superhero universe, people can take far more punishment before getting severely hurt.
That’s why we don’t have superhero’s in real life. We are far more weak and fragile on this Earth.
Sunset Overdrive was the first game I looked up once I built my PC, because I just assumed it would be one of the Xbox games available on PC, because why wouldn't it be

I'm actually not sure Insomniac have ever had a game come out on PC
I just looked it up and Song of the Deep is literally the only one, aside from their VR stuff

oh is that why
The more I think about it the more it makes sense to me. In the multiverse, our universe is unique because we are way more fragile than any other universe so super heroes never developed and also we can't survive a power slam head first into concrete from 20 feet up, but also why mooks in all other universes can just be knocked unconscious for a bit with no lasting damage.
Sunset Overdrive was a fucking awesome game with a pretty annoying aesthetic.
I like how it looked a lot, and I even like a decent chunk of the writing
But then you have a character yelling "welcome to the Awesomepocalypse!!!" and you can tell that even the voice actor kind of thinks that sounds dumb and... Yeahhhhhh
But on the other hand it does that thing where certain actions will cause particle effects that spell out onomatopoeias, like how when you jump to the ground the earth shatters and the cracks spell out "CRAK"

AND THAT RULES
I really think its more that it was only on the xbox than any particular problem with the game itself
I literally don't know a single person in my non-internet friend circle who has one
And even with that thrown in its pretty much you and mitch

This is the first generation where I haven't had each of the big 3's consoles as I will buy a console if there is even 1 game I really want to play on it.
That has not happened for the Xbone yet.
This Spider-Man games looks god damn incredible though. Every single piece of news just makes it more awesome.
I imagine this is how Batman fans felt about the Arkham games.
Honestly the Red Dead enhancements that just got announced are the first thing that’s gotten me to think hmmm maybe I should get a Xbox. I couldn’t care less about their first party offerings.

I feel like they work for the original suit because it already looks organic and edglordy enough to accommodate them.
These ones just look tacked-on to me (and literally are, I guess)

I am now totally convinced this game is gonna be the real deal

Anyway, the fact that this game will have some part of its DNA be SO is a silver lining to me.
