Not to slander burger king, provider of my breakfast, but either coincidence or a skeevy hiring policy resulted in every employee there being a young pretty girl

The uniform pants also seemed like possibly a male choice. Certain issues with highly visible panty lines.

Despite my best efforts to not be a dirty old man, dirty old man-ness levels are dangerously high

I just read a plot synopsis of the rest of Attack on Titan. I would not have guessed the direction it seems to go.

Meh, it’s like I whitelist my web comics My streaming services and that’s about it, news sites abused it. Porn sites are terrible offenders.

I don’t really use the internet for much else.

I can't tell if Gears of War 4 is worse than the previous games, or if I just stopped enjoying these games.

Its totally fine, but after 3 games it ran its course.

Its was alot like Batman after Arkham City, no one needed the next two.

I think I'm the only one who liked Origins.

I really liked several of the boss fights, and I appreciated having the fast travel system (another controversial position apparently).

The Deathstroke fight in particular I enjoyed tremendously.

    I liked Origins enough

Deathstroke was definitely the toughest fight, despite being in the first 5% of the game

I didn't mind Origins just by that point I had enough of the Batman combat/Gameplay

Also I know it's going to fall on deaf ears but WrestleMania is tonoght and it's a pretty great card. And there is a free one month trial available of the WWE Network, and there are apps for all your favorite devices except Nintendo stuff.

I forgot how weird the population system is in Banished

Basically the only way of managing population is with houses -- you build a house and it will support a single "family", consisting of a pair of parents and any children they may have. This unit will then live together, forever, until death or a child vacates to fill a new house

However, pops will only start to have children if they are the "parent" in their own house; if they live with their parents they'll never breed, and you'll end up with two 75 year old fishers and their 50 year old labourer daughters just kicking it; and even if the parents then die and leave a kid the house, if the pop is over a certain age they won't breed

So if you aren't carefully managing when you build houses so people move out and start creating new families, you can end up in a situation where your population ages too much and you enter a negative growth spiral where your only hope is for a group of nomads to show up

Fortunately I caught this just soon enough to intervene; I lost about 15 (third of my total population) and had to radically alter my work pools to compensate for a few years, but we're back into positive growth

partly because scholar-bureaucrats on the first rung of the machinery that is the singapore civil service should probably pay more attention to state narratives. one of which is this parable, to give you a sense of its opinion of statues:
    Contributions to Singapore

In 1960, a year after Singapore gained internal self-government, Winsemius was asked by the United Nations to visit Singapore as part of the United Nations Development Programme team. They were tasked with conducting a survey to assess Singapore’s potential for industrialisation. Winsemius arrived on 5 October 1960, and made his first report to the Singapore government the following year, advising them that Singapore’s success was dependent on the elimination of communist elements. He also suggested that the statue of Stamford Raffles remain. Singapore’s first prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, later wrote in his tribute to Winsemius after the latter’s death that “investors wanted to see what the new socialist government in Singapore was going to do to the statue of Raffles. Letting [the statue] remain would be a symbol of public acceptance of the legacy of the British and could have a positive effect”.

this is a city-state whose national identity is founded on actively denouncing prevailing native and diasporic nationalism as unjust and evil, rather than playing up grievances against the british or the japanese. imagine, if you will, that the bantustans had become real and a collectivity of Afrikaner city-states had emerged; you might imagine that it would be deeply skeptical of black nationalisms, even those that are nominally anti-british

the more cynical answer is that the #rhodesmustfall folks are too Africa-aligned - a place with which Singapore has essentially no interaction - and so rubbing shoulders with those folks is bad networking for someone whose career in life is going to be running a small country distinctly East of Suez
