I visited the Smithsonian about 4 years ago, and after looking at all the beautiful paintings in the main gallery, there was one on a poster in the gift shop, of all places, that really caught my eye. I've never come across it since then, but it's been bugging me this whole time.
It was a painting that I believe was supposed to represent heaven, or paradise. It centered a river in a very lush jungle. In the foreground were two heavenly looking figures (angels possibly) paddling a small canoe. There was a strange temple like structure rising above the trees in the far off background. From what I remember, it was done in a classic, realistic style.
In G&T there are always these threads where you describe a game you vaguely remember playing as a kid and hope one of the mega-nerds there can help you identify it. I was hoping one of you guys would know enough about paintings to help me out here. This can be a thread for other people with the same problem as me to seek aid, or it can just be a place to post beautiful art. Or you can just lock it if it's stupid. I've never posted in SE++ before, so I don't know what's considered acceptable.
EDIT: Hooray, it was Voyage of Life- Youth by Thomas Cole! Have fun.

The best part about this painting?
It was originally hung in a dining room.
