I thought carbonated water was acidic?

Maybe? It isn't about how acidic the thing is: I can eat acidic foods without issue. It's about the effect it has on your body chemistry and from what I know, drinking carbonated beverages, even acidic ones, makes you go alkaline.

Yeah, you don't want to go alkaline.

The pH of carbonated water is 3–4, which means it's slightly acidic. However, drinking an acidic beverage like carbonated water does not make your body more acidic. Your kidneys and lungs remove excess carbon dioxide. This keeps your blood at a slightly alkaline pH of 7.35–7.45, regardless of what you eat or drink.

    Many laughs were had.

My flight boards tomorrow at 10:30 am. Figure half an hour to get my rental car returned, an hour for customs and so I need to leave my hotel at 9 am.

I got a Scyther in Pokemon Quest and piled some big attack rocks on it, and its attack has it dash in, do a spin attack, and then dash out.

It was clearing entire groups of wild Pokemons in one hit, it was great.

I also just did a route at the climbing gym where the wall was tilted slightly outward and all the holds required you to grip instead of hang and when I got to the top and had to move over to the climb downs I became extremely aware that 1) my forearms were threatening to go on strike and 2) I really needed them to not do that for another twenty seconds.

took me a while to realize that Pokemon doesn't have climbing gyms now
Pokemon Go is finally getting a doodad that will let you play it without taking your phone out (a Pokéball that beeps or whatever when you're near a thing and then you push a button and catch it) but when I looked in the thread people were talking about raids and lalelilolus and I had no idea what was going on and just slowly backed out.
Uh, Pokemon Go has had a watch-like wearable that does this for a while now. Also, Apple Watches have this functionality

I had a coworker bring in a bunch of snacks and drinks from their MLM shit into the office as "free samples"

Turns our she was monitoring what people took, and then ordering them entire boxes of the shit and would then try to shake them down for the money because "it was already ordered!"

Another special look Behind the Posts

for this post I tried for like 20 minutes to reduce the size of the first animated GIF from this article so I could get it under 1MB and inline it, but it's doing something funky with transparency or something and my photoshop skills weren't strong enough. So I very reluctantly posted it as a still image, significantly lowering it's aesthetic value. I apologize for this failure and will endeavor, as always, to be a better chatter in the future

If that happened where I work I think that would get either a severe reprimand at best, possible termination at worst.

@wandering I go to ezgif.com and usually I reduce the dimensions of the .gif, as well as use some of the compression/filesize adjustment tools. It's fast and simple.

That has the ability to backfire spectacularly.

Which is a shame if someone brought free sample snacks and 1 was great I'd consider ordering that, even if it was mlm. If they were trying to shake people down I'd fire them, unless they owned the company then I'd find another job. That's unethical.

While I don't deny Top Gun was a recruitment aide, you can't just pop in and sign up to be a fighter pilot. Wave a flag, refuel, even EOD, but pilots are instead officers.
