fucking up writing on birthday or other cards is so annoying. then you gotta do that do I use white out and cement my failure or do I scrap the card and start over debate.

Welp, I'm in trouble. I let the dogs out and then didn't pay attention to them so now they completely excavated a fruit tree and Sixwife is going to hang me by my cods.

I wish I started this sooner because my birthday card game is usually on fucking point

a mid-tier white wine, but with a card I made myself, painted some flowers on and cursived a generic greeting gets noticed

but it takes a while. One in three painting tries are acceptable, and I do like at least three good ones to write on hoping I get one really good one. White out is not acceptable.

I bought a card this time so I just need to do the writing which saves a lot of time, but still I'm just writing it over and over on paper just warming up for gametime

So chat, dinner went amazingly well last night. companion ended up bringing dinner! not just any dinner mind you, but some atom bomb spicy chicken biryani. I ended up way too bushed from cleaning all day to even imagine shopping and cooking, so it was basically manna from heaven at that point.

About half the time I write a card / note for Ladyfish, she'll have to ask me what it says because my writing is such a disaster

Oh god don't make me vocalize the mushy stuff I wrote, there's a reason I'm communicating it through text

Frame rates are important in the following ways:

A hitching frame rate, that is frames that come in at irregular intervals, is ugly and distracting and everyone will notice it. Yes even you, king of lol-i-don’t-care-about-graphics-ville.

A low frame rate, under 30, will delay in game feedback to changes in input to every 32+ milliseconds. This will make a game feel loose and sloppy and hard to control even if it looks ok. In a driving game it’ll make you fishtail from overcorrections. In an FPS you’ll feel drunk and find yourself looking at the ground and sky a lot.

Unless you have gsync or the TV equivalent, a game running at a frame rate that isn’t an integer factor of 60 is going to either have tearing (literally horizontal lines running through the screen) or severe hitching from repeated frames. Tearing I think most players will notice as visually unacceptable, to the point where no consoles allow it. And hitching with repeated frames throws off your timing in any game remotely sensitive to timing. It’ll make you bad at every fighting game.

We are meant to hike today - ideally, we'd head out as early as an hour from now

But riiiight now the weather is intermittently rainy and surprisingly gusty, so we'll keep an eye on the skies for now

since I am sitting here practicing my cursive - I wrote the card, it turned out myeh, but I needed to just get it done, the quote (the full quote, I write the last sentence over and over like a crazy person) which I always write when practicing my cursive
The flames sawed in the wind and the embers paled and deepened and paled and deepened like the bloodbeat of some living thing eviscerate upon the ground before them and they watched the fire which does contain within it something of men themselves inasmuch as they are less without it and are divided from their origins and are exiles. For each fire is all fires, and the first fire and the last ever to be.

It is kind of amazing how "genetics determines if you hate cilantro" went from weak studies to accepted conventional wisdom to something people are making money off by saying they have a test that can say if you have genetics that make you hate cilantro.

I want to provide a scientific test that costs $400 and when it arrives it’s just a sprig of cilantro and a notecard that says “Check one: This tastes ( ) Good (x) Bad”

Also the strongest evidence for cilantro having a physical component to people’s enjoyment of it is not genetic or folk, but statistical. Almost every food worldwide, when the flavor is ranked 1-10, has a normal distribution of scores, with one peak and monotonocally rolling off to both sides.

Cilantro’s chart is bimodal, which is highly unusual for something that isn’t a hyper local acquired taste but an herb found in global cuisine.

I don't really care about tearing most times, I've had the process of enabling vsync until my hardwares is too old for it and then that's what I usually turn off first to lessen the load.

Moral law is an invention of mankind for the disenfranchisement of the powerful in favor of the weak. Historical law subverts it at every turn. A moral view can never be proven right or wrong by any ultimate test. A man falling dead in a duel is not thought thereby to be proven in error as to his views. His very involvement in such a trial gives evidence of a new and broader view. The willingness of the principals to forgo further argument as the triviality which it in fact is and to petition directly the chambers of the historical absolute clearly indicates of how little moment are the opinions and of what great moment the divergences thereof. For the argument is indeed trivial, but not so the separate wills thereby made manifest. Man's vanity may well approach the infinite in capacity but his knowledge remains imperfect and howevermuch he comes to value his judgments ultimately he must submit them before a higher court. Here there can be no special pleading. Here are considerations of equity and rectitude and moral right rendered void and without warrant and here are the views of the litigants despised. Decisions of life and death, of what shall be and what shall not, beggar all question of right. In elections of these magnitudes are all lesser ones subsumed, moral, spiritual, natural.

I love the character of the Judge so much. Such a thoroughly thought-through evil.

Same honestly. The smooth input is more important to me than tearing, though it is really ugly.

The jagged mountains were pure blue in the dawn and everywhere birds twittered and the sun when it rose caught the moon in the west so that they lay opposed to each other across the earth, the sun whitehot and the moon a pale replica, as if they were the ends of a common bore beyond whose terminals burned worlds past all reckoning.”
