I can't stand him and the fact that no one calls him out on his attitude makes it worse.
People call him out on it literally all the time!
Basically every pro hero he runs into basically says “wow, what a talent. But wow, what an asshole” and tries to mentor him into stop being an asshole.
That was the whole point behind the Best Jeanist internship even.

One of the best moments we’ve gotten so far is Bakugo being all “fuck you, Midoriya” in the exam and being so hung up on how Midoriya actually beat him in their trial test that he was willing to just throw the exam until Midoriya fucking decked him in the face and said “get over your shit, asshole”
It just woke him the fuck up and made him have a lot of progress away from just “the guy what is a dick to the MC” and gave some info on why Bakugo is the way he is without excusing it.

i think i got on board with bakugo around the time of his final exam with midoriya. there's something all might says in episode 2 that tracks VERY CLOSELY with a realisation bakugo has during the test
i'm paraphrasing here but it's something like 'pro heroes risk their lives every day' and 'how could i beat you without taking any risks'
and i was like is bakugo.. cool.....?
todoroki remains my fave tho, he's like prince zuko if he had decided he wanted to be a good guy from the start

Bakugo is talking about his gauntlets, they let him fire off the enormous blast with very little risk to himself.
Then All Might smashes the gauntlets.

I like how a lot of the special powers in MHA tend to involve some sort of drawback that seems to fit how they're actually affecting the body. Like Yuga having to wait a bit between firing his navel beam or else it'll destroy his stomach or Uraraka becoming nauseous if she overuses her gravity powers.
also apropros of nothing but copy boy from Class B has literally the best power for a hero to have in macademia's world. If he works with a versatile team and practices with them then he can be like an all around utility hero for any situation. Too bad he's like the Bakugo of his class and has such a shitty personality.
I really like how they put emphasis in the need for a symbol of hope in All Might a la Superman, and how it affects society as a whole.
I also find it fascinating that, almost every time Japan makes a superhero series -- not just like Kamen Rider, who's a single hero, but a "superhero universe" kind of series -- it's almost always organized - either there's a private organization where the heroes register, or the government funds it. Contrast it with the Marvel universe, where there are more conflicts between superheroes (who are by default vigilantes) and police forces. I don't have the eloquence for this (hopefully someone can better put it into words), but it's pretty reflective/indicative(?)/something? of the differences between Japanese and Western society as a whole.
Basically, Japan has a cultural affinity for organization and, well...conformity. That said, it's not just black or white (remember, the most successful manga series currently is one that pointedly makes the government the villain, and the heroes are a group of societal outcasts.)

It's necessary for the story as well. It's similar to magic in that regard - the ability of quirks to resolve plot issues is inverse to their limitations. If quirks are deus ex machinas, then it kills a lot of the options that you have for storytelling.
Also my actual favorite thing about this series is about how it's not just a hero's journey it's also a villain's journey. It's great watching a petulant man-child learning to control himself and "make friends" so he can become actually dangerous.
I have really turned around on Bakugo this season.
I’m never really a huge fan of unrepentant jerks, but this season they’re doing a ton to humanize him, and how he’s acted the last several episodes made me go from a mild dislike to a fan.
I genuinely think more people should have come to this conclusion by the end of season 2

2018 was bad but I never thought it would come to this
His mom sums it up well. He's got a good quirk and he's naturally athletic and smart. On top of that he has morons like his middle school teacher who praise his quirk and build his ego. Of course hes an ass anybody would be in that enviroment

I was afraid they were going to do the Shonen trope with Bakugo but the show was like 'nah, we're above that'.
He's a dumb asshole, but he's a dumb asshole to everybody. Especially villains
(also not actually dumb. The reveal that he was top scorer on the academic test was a very good detail)
him understanding the liability his presence was causing in the all might v one for all fight was also a nice reminder of this
he's hot-headed but smart, and has a much more nuanced situational understanding than one might expect from only seeing his interactions with the YOUNG MAN who gets his fuckin goat. It's not only "experienced and creative with his very good powers"

I mean, he's also the one that came up with the strategy to beat All-Might in the finals when Midoriya couldn't figure out what to do. And tactics is Midoriya's thing.

I liked Mustard because he came across as the kind of person Kopy Kid could become if his resentment towards Class A was less comical. It's basically the same kind of semirational hatred towards people with more noteriety that has been allowed to fester into something more dangerous.
Kopy kid needs to get a handle on things, methinks.
Also, I liked the gag in the summer camp arc where Monoma is mocking Class A for having more students who failed the final exam than Class B did. When he is the one Class B student who failed.

Nah, he wasn’t skeletal, he was just a normal sized high school kid.
I think they just mis-colored the eyes, because in the movie they’re white not black with blue iris
It was nice because it was a huge clue that he would never be “The Rival/villian” in the classic shounen sense.
I genuinely think more people should have come to this conclusion by the end of season 2
