Objects In Space is an early access point and click stealth space trading sim. It is... one heck of an experience.
It's very much a game in the Elite: Dangerous school of space sims: You will bounty hunt, you will pirate and, more than anything, you will
space truck the shit out of some cargo.
The unique angle it has going for it is in both how space combat is modeled and how you interact with the game. First of all the interfaces that you use to pilot your ships are intentionally in the growing school of modempunk style stuff: Everything is a pixelated monitor, your nav computor works off a stunning 3098kb of memory, often your comms system will just cut out till you go to engineering and literally turn it on and off again. Everything is clunky and requires more clicks than a more modern interface style would and it is
delightful.
The way combat and movement works however is what really sets it apart. While most space sims are based on WW2 dogfights or battleships duking it out Objects in Space is all about submarine combat. Rule one of every conflict is to not be seen, rule two is to actually find the enemy. Your sensor suite will continually generate contacts for you to obsess over. Looking at the emission's chart to try and decide which ones are real ships and which ones are false positives. Meanwhile your managing your own ship's emissions. You can make sure to only engage thrust in nebula, you can turn on your weapons only when in the blindspot of your target's sensors, you can even slam on the EMCOM mode and kill your reactor. Leaving you to drift on only the power stored in your batteries, sliding past a pirate invisible for as long as you can.

This video gives a better impression of gameplay but the short of it is that it's
very good at what it does. If you like games that make you feel like you're in the cockpit of a messy, flawed machine or the tension of not knowing what's right infront of you then you'll probably adore it.

So far I'm shuttling booze around for a french farmer/grifter who lives off the jumpgate network while also facilitating a trade between two different groups of fine art snobs.
Also the final version plans to add an endless sandbox mode and multiplayer scenarios so you can hunt with or against your friends and up the paranoia even more.
