The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
It used to work just fine (this is a laptop about a month old), but the past week or so the sound has started to "stutter" when playing WoW. Sound comes out fine in any other application, so it can't be dud speakers. I'm not sure why it's a new development either. I haven't changed anything, or any of my habits. I don't run anything else when I'm playing the game. I do have one mod (econ).
Would this be related to my connection speed somehow? It's my only guess, currently - that my connection speed is fluctuating, and affecting the sound. However, the game itself is unaffected in any other way.
I would check the Performance panel under Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio tab > Sound Playback Advanced option > Performance tab. Make sure your Hardware Acceleration is set to Full.
This is probably not what's happening with your system, but I had the exact same issue on my computer, and I found this was the problem, the Hardware Acceleration had been set to none.

Laptop sound cards are mainly software driven; and the lag you're experiencing is probably due to lowered available resources.
