"This is a first come, first served event, your RSVP does not guarantee admission. We suggest arriving as early as possible."
Bioshock 2.0?
To be fair, I think most company sponsored parties function this way (save the smaller meetups). Bioshock was a mess because they gave priority to cosplayers and had the intentions of divvying RSVPs vs walk-ins but it kind of fell a part.
"*Entrance will be granted on a first come, first served basis for those who show an electronic ticket provided after registration or flyer and US identification."
Not sure if this constitutes as a hangout, but this looked fun:

Interesting find. But "... or flyer and US identification" makes it sound as if the ticket won't matter, no?
All the after parties are probably going to be first come first serve, I went to the WB event last year and I lined up early enough and same with the Xbox/Taco Bell event that was great.

Trion Worlds checked our names on a list upon entry and warned people in line not to bother if they didn't RSVP. Lenovo Lounge at Hard Rock last year also required an RSVP. Granted there was still a line outside and I don't think they officially sold out, but they did scan our tickets.

I will definitely be at the Red Bull challenge mode! One of my FAVORITE rappers is performing! I just gotta figure out exactly what DAY/TIME he will be performing.

Come celebrate The Messenger's launch with the team and industry friends! We've got booze, poutine, and live music from Rainbowdragoneyes, who made all those sweet tracks for the game!
This one falls into that gray area that I had to consider. I believe this event falls within PAX hours, runs consecutively all 4 days and is more of a PAX Event than a Party. Please correct me if I am wrong!
Things I consider before posting a new potential party:
- Anything put out by PAX itself I try to avoid. Concerts and usual PAX West venue locations are examples. There are always exceptions to this and any rule here.
- Anything invite-only. There are a few parties out there that I have opted-out from listing due to this.
- The Party must have an event page posted up so I can link to it. I do try to reach out with any event posted to see if they have an event site or can make one. An events page gives more of a feel of authenticity.
Join us for a special evening with Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno and producers Michiteru Okabe and Matt Walker!
Featuring Dante...'s favorite pizza: Pepperoni. But we’re kicking it up a stylish rank or two, and bringing you fancy flatbread pepperoni slices.
We’re working closely with Sonicboombox to make it the most kickass DMC party ever. We’re even enlisting the help of DMC fan and cosplay extraordinaire VampyBitMe to host the party (btw, keep an eye out on Twitch.tv/VampyBitme as she gears up for the occasion)! Speaking of cosplay, we’d love to see more awesome DMC cosplay, so if you’ve got some of your own, please do come in as your favorite DMC character.
Featuring photobooth, live DJing Chuck None and more!
Life is Strange 2 Fan Meet Up Party with What’s Good Games
We're doing it again! Thanks to our friends at Square Enix we are once again partnering up to celebrate Life is Strange. Last year we had a line around the block, so this year we are taking over the WHOLE venue at the Unicorn. WOWZA!
Entry is free for all but the first 100 people in line will get free drink tickets. It's open to anyone 21+ in the Seattle area, no PAX badge required.
Mingle with us (y'know, the dorks from What's Good Games) and the incredibly talented developers from DONTNOD Entertainment to celebrate the upcoming launch of the first episode of LIFE IS STRANGE 2.
Share your favorite moments from the series, enjoy refreshments, snap a picture in the photo booth and enter for a chance to win games, SQUARE ENIX prizes and more. (Posting something to social media? Use hashtag #WhatsGoodPAX!)
Hope to see you there! and don't forget to join us at the Expanding the Universe of Life is Strange panel on Friday August 31st at 12:00 p.m. in the Wyvern Theater!
Friday, August 31st from 3:30PM-7:00PM @ Coterie Work Lounge, 1414 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101
Have the chance to meet policymakers, industry and fellow game creators. Refreshments will be provided, as well as (hopefully!) stimulating conversation! RSVPs can be sent to SAmdo@theesa.com .
With over 50 Parties happening, I do believe everyone can find at least one to attend!
During PAX, I will be keeping my eyes out for any other event that might be happening over the weekend, but if anyone hears about any parties, do let us know!
I am always open to feedback. If you have suggestions, please, suggest away!
I also follow various gaming/hardware companies on Twitter, IG & FB. That way if they post a party or giveaway, I'm aware. I also follow hashtags like #PAXWEST, #NINDIES, #PAXWEST2018, etc. Be aware that just following #PAX will lead you to a lot of vape posts.
Hey there -- if you're looking for something fun to do in Seattle tonight, I'm co-hosting a night of D&D comedy shows at Kremwerk: The Double d20 Adventure Extravaganza!
Just received an update from ArenaNet: If you do not have a ticket to their party, there will not be a second lineup to get in following those with a ticket. I suggest that if you still want to go without a ticket to still show up. You might be let in after those with tickets have entered after a certain time.
We're playing Quiplash on the big screen at the Pocket Theater tonight at 7pm and then wandering around the bars of Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood. If you're looking for a laid back after-PAX event tonight, check it out.
