A job I applied for wants me to take a PEAK assessment test.
credeiki Feral weren't you guys just talking about work personality tests like a couple weeks ago?
I'm required to take mine before I go to corporate indoctrination retreat in a week! I did it my first day though because of course. Idk what PEAK is; I'll look it up.

Ugh, I should be programming again. I am tired. I am literally watching My Hero Academia instead of doing anything. I am just tired. Too tired to even WoW.

If I somehow won a billion dollars:
- houses, college funds, blah blah blah
- a scholarship fund for trans kids
- form a lobbying firm for trans rights and healthcare
- remake the Star Wars prequels
- start my own media/news company
- start a clothing line for gender non-conforming folks

@SniperGuy the problem is everyone plays removal and you’re leaving just that as a target. It won’t live long. You could SB it assuming they’ll board out removal... would that be okay? I just don’t see it working main.
a sprint is a 2 week period where work is planned before you stop, talk about how it went, and plan work for the next 2 weeks
it is not like a crunch
nothing is like a crunch at my job
Oh okay, that's neat + a sane way to approach a big project, I imagine
Yea the main reason we like 'em is it lets us look at a project and be like "...Are we on track or anywhere close to it? Or are we going to end up like three months over budget at this rate?" Haven't had to cut bait on one since I've been here but I've heard horror stories.

Fuck Joe Manchin
-quit my awful job, of course
-buy a really nice place in a few locations I love- Manhattan, Cambridge, Chicago... but really nice like a couple million, not a 70 million gawdy monstrosity
-buy a really nice car or two (Tesla, BMW coupe... not 2 million dollar Bugattis)
-deck out the places with great tech, gigabit internet, pro kitchens etc
-regularly travel in luxury, first class
-conservatively invest enough to give me a few hundred thousand a year for the rest of my life
I could probably very comfortably do all that with 25m. The other 575m I use for charity, political acts, helping friends and family etc.
It’s a barely conceivable fortune. It’s staggering that Jeff Bezos has 266 of these mountains of money.

That first one in fact immediately after I win I almost let the student loans default. You know, get it so they're all up on me with phone calls. They start calling you from the numbers you don't already know and shit to try and get you to at least pick up. Then it's all "yeah i guess i should make a payment, oh no i don't want to pay the full past due amount, i want to pay the full amount."

I am not sure a couple million would get you a really nice place in Manhattan.
When we first started doing sprints in my old piecemeal agile org we realized we were all filthy liars about our estimates and that some people would never admit that their "90%" done feature was really 30%.

Look it's very important to make sure that everyone thinks the same otherwise someone might come up with a clever idea.

I would buy you a fur coat
But not a real fur coat, that's cruel
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
