Alright, we're starting a very casual server for Genesis 2
PA Server Details:
Server name: [PA] Genesis 2 Platypus Boogaloo
Address: 193.176.29.53:27075
Password is the usual (pm me if you don't know it)
Discord Server:
https://discord.gg/JFuhZS697t
The easiest way to access the server is to take that IP address, and add it to your favorites in Steams Server browser (under View > Servers)
Server Settings
Taming Speed = 2x
Everything involving babies (egg laying, growth, etc..) = 2x
XP = 2x
Harvesting = 2x
Wild Dino levels currently cap out at 60
Imprinting settings are at default values. Because they scale based on the above settings, anything I changed would just make it harder to get a good imprint. Players are allowed to cuddle/etc… other players babies though.
Other settings of note:
- Server is PVE
- Structure placement collision is off, even vanilla stuff will clip into terrain now.
- S+ stuff will replace vanilla stuff where applicable
Supply Drops and Loot
Supply Drops are going to start at Vanilla settings

Here's the rest of the mods I've got so far.
Not doing a market yet, we may not need it. The Helena bot sells stuff for currency gained when doing missions.

General Mods:
Decorative Mods:
No Decor Mods yet, lets see how performance is.
Immersive Taming:
The biggest addition is Immersive Taming. It allows an entirely alternate method of taming creatures! It’s GREAT.
From the mod description:
This should result in taming speeds of roughly the same as the traditional method, just with less darting of stuff. Expect further tweaks if it feels too rough.

He's updated it with a bunch of new features. Most importantly, it lets you recover your corpse, and you even seem to be able to upload dinos into it.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
Yeah, that tracks.
Yeah I was expecting it.
I've got the mod list updated, and have a copy of the old config files modified to match the new setup. Still need to make a few tweaks to engrams. So hopefully if things are up and running tonight I can spend a little time to confirm things are the way I want them, then turn it on.

That is the Sky Titan. It's a massive boss (there are four total) that a group of players can tame by freeing them from corruption that has spread across its body. (by shooting it off)
Titans are 5 day tames, but massively powerful and automatically have a platform saddle once tamed. You'll need all four to beat... whatever the final boss is.

I've got a very basic Teleporter network up for now, although the City is super vertical so my plans for restricting flying may go out the window sooner rather than later. Let's see how it feels after a week.
Uploading and downloading of people and dinos will not work. If you attempt to download a dino, it will vanish. If you upload one, you cannot bring it back out.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
There's also one teleport in the cavern beneath the city but god knows what spawns down there.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
I watched someone do a quick fly around the map to check out what the biomes look like. Death, death is what spawns down there.
And yeah, lots of corrupt giga in the wastes. Corrupt things are nasty.
The city on the other hand, so far I have only seen a few spiders and scorpions, some reindeer, ptera, trikes. Plus the Enforcers and Defense Units. Gonna need to build me one of them I think.
If yall find my wood shack in eastern city, its right next to a bridge that leads to one of the teleporters.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
There are several other types as well I dunno how to make. Granted, immersive taming sort of makes it moot.

edit:
I logged off after shoring up my defenses a little bit.
My shelter is currently an elevated walkway whose approaches have been walled off by stone walls and dino-gates that are 4 walls high. That should hopefully keep most ground predators at bay. I haven't seen any airborne hostiles save some kind of magpie thing (archoiowhatsit?). My dinos should be safe so long as they remain on that walkway. I've got metal tools, and a decent supply of metal from a few gold nodes neaby. I'm going to try to craft a few rudimentary firearms tomorrow for self defense and then go scouting around some more. Maybe try to get my hands on a more mobile mount or a predator mount.

I've tried verifying the install, updating drivers, ect. but it hasn't worked so far. I can play singleplayer or self-host a nondedicated server but trying to join any server gets me that error. Does Ark require some weird port forwarding or something?
Edit: I saw a post where someone said resetting their modem/router fixed it.
I'll see if I can track it down. Also I will update the server in case its something there.

I gave him a bunch of random trash, and he pooped out Ascendant Riot Leggings. And later a pistol.

If one is confident with their gasbag jumping skills, they should be able to traverse those rock shelves. The temperature in that area was 50 celsius, so my character was drastically overheating and constantly taking damage. I decided to play it safe and phoned home with the teleporter remote at 50% health.
I ended up being able to get refrigeration up and online at my outpost. Next objectives are to refine some more gas to keep the generator fed, get a farm up and running, and look into taming a better carnivore mount.
I also spotted some of those armadillos up near the green obelisk. I'll probably look into taming one of those for some more serious stone harvesting.

Wut.
Just . . . wut?
Today I got an Apprentice miners hat and Journeyman Chitin gloves. And a bunch of oil and crystal. I love him.

-Tribe folks, feel free to borrow my critters. I highly recommend feeding some stone to the Gacha for resources and treasure. Mine is currently producing crystal
-I've started a farm at the Eastern base but it is not quite done. I'll get it when I get home Monday
-Keep eyes peeled for beetles, and honey. Haven't seen those yet.
-I've tried fixing the lack of SE and Ab engrams, but for some reason my fix didn't work. We may have to wait for Wildcard to fix it. I'll try again Monday.
-I've placed a few more teleporters in the city, and a few in the wastes.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
Gasbags are great. These guys are fun and balanced. I'd hate to use one on a pvp server but they are blast (pun intended) on pve. If you haven't tried them yet tame one right now and go play moon lander!
Velos feel a little op. I expect a nerf sooner or later. They are great if you can kill targets before they close, if stuff gets close or you run low on stamina or get hit with stamina draining attack they are way weaker though. I'd take one over a carno for sure, but I suspect I'd take a spino or rex over one of these guys. Maybe thats good enough?
(I can't wait to try some other new tames)
The map feels small going through the wastes. I think skipping flyers for now was a good call. There is a lot of verticality on the map though which makes some short trips a lot longer. I think this is reasonable. I wish the buildings in the city were actually enterable. I'd love to make a base in a trashed restaurant or store or something. The could also have access tunnels in the city to act as "caves". I've also notices that some areas are super heavy with just a few types of critters. I'd be nice if they rebalanced the spawns some..
I'm also not sold on the corrupt dinos wrecking all the wall types. Between that and the meteors it makes a lot of the map "unbuildable" for all intents and purposes. I could see living in the southern wastes for funsies.
Mods:
MuddBudd you really out did your self with the mod selection. I LOVE the immersive taming, and the visual storage.
The bugs: Oh wildcard. Nuff said. Between the mesh, the meteors, the island save wipes, the vanishing bases its a wildcard game fore sure.
Things I'd like to see from wildcard moving forward:
Some blueprint drops from dinos? I think we could probably manage a low tier drop defense, but I wish there was another source of blue prints. Gvien how crummy base ark gear is I can't wait for us to get some blue prints.
Engram unlocks: I've played all the maps and unlocked almost all the engrams at some point. Just let me make dang morella saddle or a wing suit. I shouldn't have to swap to a different server just to unlock a saddle for a starter mount.
Species X plus a SMGasaurus or two in turret mode should be sufficient to ward off flyer attacks.
Been meaning to try this but did on PC and gave my desktop a heart attack.
Additionally:
If all this seems to be in order, I'm going to start building the actual market stalls tonight. If theres a resource this map doesn't have to use certain things, lemme know. (example, green gem fragments can't be used for climbing picks on this map for some reason)
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
I'm curious how you did this because that's how I want to play all future games of ARK.
Theres a bunch of mods that do it. Personally I use https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1428596566

The Market is now open for business in East Garden. It's got all sorts of goodies and resources to buy. Plus the Research station.
Of note, you can buy Egg Selling Tables at the market for your own base, so that you can just place it next to your collectors, instead of hauling eggs all the way to the market.
Additionally, the last fixes to coin drops are in, most, if not all, corrupt creatures should drop coins. The nastier the target, the more it drops. Still trying to get Defense Units to drop stuff but Enforcers will now.
I am going to asses the cost of building the teleporter for a while, I don't want them to be so common as not to be valuable.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
-You can't damage stuff from inside the shield, you need to patrol outside of it
-There were three 'attack lanes' we needed to defend against
-Nothing was particularly difficult at Blue level, but there were a lot of creatures in each wave. 40ish
-It was less about survival than defense. With a high level rex and several Velos, we weren't in danger. It was about protecting the Pod
-Rewards were decent, could be better. 7 Cryopods, a handful of element stuff. Some fairly good BPs and tools/armor. A large amount of foundations/pillars.
I think we can handle a yellow, but I'd suggest at least 3 people, if not 4-5 per pod.
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
Me and Delkarn handled a blue pod the other night fairly easily with two high level sloths. We tried a yellow later on (with a third sloth) and got our asses handed to us as soon as wave 2 started and we got hit with 3 spinos. They took the bubble down in about 20 seconds too. Not saying you guys can't handle it as you sound significantly more prepared than we were, I'm just saying have an escape plan and that spinos are fast and persistent.
