Is there any meaningful difference between Reaper bases and Citadel bases of the same size?
Not that I’m aware of. Basing rules are also quite lax so long as they’re the correct size
I don't know if these are reaper or not but my friend bought a reaper minis set a while ago and had a bunch of these bases with a weird sort of lip on the edge. You can kind of see it in this picture.

The Repulsor is...a lot of pieces. Need to look up a guide on how to magnetize it.
The Repulsor is...a lot of pieces. Need to look up a guide on how to magnetize it.
A guide you say? I magnetized mine, I have pictures if it helps. It probably isn't the best but it has been working great for me. The pictures are from the first repulsor I magnetized. My second was so much smoother.
I finally got to play today! First time in ages. It was a blast and I played chaos. Not my full competitive list but enough I could try and learn some of the new tricks with CSM 2.0. And man there is so much more there than there was a few months ago.
We played the tactical gamble from CA2018. That is the one you can discard to cards to pull another which is worth double points. Also you trim 6 cards from your deck. Actually pretty fun and not terribly unbalance for maelstrom because the decks are trimmed and you get more options to discard for a bonus.
I deployed first so I was going first if he didn't seize which he didn't. I wasn't too worried, prepared positions+-1 to hit from the apostle makes the Lord Discordant really tough. 2+/5++ with a -1 to hit with +1 to saves tanks a lot of things.
Turn 1 I moved up fast. The daemonforge pack specialist detachment warlord trait plus good advance rolls I was well into charge range for everything. Though I could only charge one and I did the maulerfiend who I got perfectly set up to finish off a wounded centurion unit from a lot of autocannon fire and hurt tie up the aggressors for a turn so they couldn't advance and really not shoot any good targets.
He charged my prince and my lord discordant with his knight after I absoded and ignored his battlecannon fire thanks to him being with in 6" for the charge with a -1 to hit and some good rolls. He killed neither and I one turned a knight. The LD is crazy good. And I didn't even get the charge off. The prince is always a blender.
By the end of 2 I had killed half the table with my deepstrikes and daemon engines. Lost my venomcrawler and mauler fiend but they did their share of damage. And had a commanding lead in points.
The rest of the game was clean up as I pushed him down to a single intercessor 10 man, the thunderfire (which was legend killing my backline cultist), his HQs and his flyer. Turn 5 his flyer got to a place I could hit it with raptors with meltas. I buffed them with a +1 to hit and did 9 wounds. My warlord with the chainsword killed it with 3 mortal wounds from his chainblade relic. And my prince got in range to charge the intercessors. I killed 9 of the 10 in a turn and not even UM can stand verse that fear.
I ended up winning 17-9. It was a great game though and a lot of fun.
My MVPs:
1)Lord Discordant absord about 20+ wounds of fire thanks to the FNP spell and his 4++ from the MoP being near. Killed a knight. Killed about 9 intercessors. And sniped a few other units with his autocannon. On top of being a force multiplier. 160 feels too cheap for his but load of attacks. I love it. The second is being built asap.
2)CSM who would not die and held their objectives. The ACs picked off a few primaris. But overall they absorbed turn after turn of fire before they finally succumbed. I was in shock too.
3)Deffy. Just lived all game. Absorbed fire. Killed a good amount of marines. Took an objective. Just did his job for 142 points.
4)DP with claws. Always a winner. Killed probably 400 points of marines before finally getting taking down by the captain with the powerfist.
My did what they should and that was coo:
1)Warp talons with the Host Raptorial warlord near by-Canceled a bunch of overwatch. Killed 3 intercessors. Held an objective.
2)Raptors-Killed a few marines with meltas, and got the SM flyer down to 1 wound in a turn.
3)Maulerfiend-Killed 2 centurions wiping the unit. That was more than his points worth. I was proud of fluffy. Also mean that my opponent had to put in shots into him instead of other threats.
Disappointments:
1) The oblits-I rolled poorly for this guns but even so they finished 4 aggressors and 3 hellblasters. Got killed by krak missiles while in cover. Looked cool doing it.
How many primaris bodies does it take to become an effective horde, and get over the hard-counter of 2 damage weapons?
Like... in my current primaris deathwatch lists, my main weaknesses are the standard elitism of not that many bodies (30ish) that can get trashed by their counters, and also not that many vehicles, which also get trashed by their counters.
Is shifting entirely into primaris infantry a valid strategy of critical mass? A bunch of autocannons and plasma can deal with a low amount of primaris, but will they struggle with a horde of them?
With deathwatch, I can fit 60+ hq primaris into a 1750pt list. How do people feel they would deal with 12 squads of primaris?

For competitive play there isn't really a number that will let you get away as a horde. My DW competitive army is 20 primaris+20 vets (14 w/stormshields)+20 ad mech infantry and it can all be eaten off the board in a turn or two.
Hell most competitive shooting list can kill 40-50 plaguebearers a turn. And those are harder to kill in my opinion.
The key is to bring something they want to kill more while your infantry does a lot of the dirty work.
Part of me wants to get Kill Team Arena to see since my brother is doing hunting parties with tons of wolves and either primaris or reivers as the "human" part of it
Still because of either the wind or being shit upon at work kind of killed my free time I still am torn of what to do with my kill team primaris

Man, that would have been super useful when we made our Forum Deathwatch Army.
Also hello, it's been 6 years since I last posted in a 40k Thread. I'm here to find out where to sell all my stuff... as clearly, it's been at least 6 years since I touched 40k.
My friend has a store, he still has the Deathwatch Killteam starter. I've thought about picking it up for the Deathwatch models, but I don't like the the deathworld forest stuff.

I will buy one when I get paid. I really want those tactics cards and markers.
So part of me wants to get two more copies of the marines in shadowspear but I feel it's far cheaper to buy two copies of the game since it's pricey for the parts
But I don't know about something since I gave the marines to my brother. Are the heads separate? As I don't want to use bareheads if I get them for my kill team part of the allure of being unforgiven {mantis warriors} or not willing to be seen {my homebrew}
When I get home tomorrow I'll take a look at my sprue and let you know if no one has answered. I have the models but haven't done anything with them yet.

Wait at least until tomorrow: there are previews coming from the UK Games Expo, and we're still waiting on a Primaris/Space Marines mk II codex.
Also while I was sleuthing for rumors, @dr_keenbean, have you heard that GW Glaze paints are going away? I've got full pots of all four, but the only thing I've ever used them for was to give a green sheen to my Dark Eldar poisoned weapons.
Heads are separate for Shadowspear. The regular Eliminators (but not the sergeant) have two heads to choose from, but outside of that there are no extra options.

I hadn't heard anything but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't think they get mentioned on the new painting site they put up and I know they don't sell terribly well. Plus most anyone who actually uses the technique regularly knows you don't need special paints to do it.
EDIT: what's really interesting here is the return of the Forge World paints, notably Lupercal Green and Sons of Horus Green and all the clears, as air and layer paints. Shame they're not in the old pots.
None of those reveals seem like anything special? It's definitely beginning to feel like we've been in a bit of a lull since the release of Abaddon's new model, which feels especially weird because the pace of big releases has been absolutely breakneck since the end of 7th edition.

Its also discontinued. Trust me, I wanted it too. We could eBay it, I guess.
I have it. Its just the DW vet 5 man box. The bigger thing is the tactics cards. But even so just get a vet box. You can build the same stuff.
What do you get in the box for either? As Deathwatch is the original kill team. I have the overkill boardgame and this
I really wanted to play kill team back when it first came out just more people were far more interested in bigger battles
